Response to Perspective
During the 1970s I used to collect WWII British Army. Then when I saw this near mint C-type helmet complete with a 1945 dated H-type mask for £30 - this began my RAF WWII collecting! Then I went back to the shop (The Militiaman - Luton Beds) and bought the Squadron Leader's SD uniforn that went with the C-type, for another £30! Oh, plus the RAF webbing! Prices were low, but as Chris says, if it was related to the Battle of Britain, etc, one could pay pretty "bank account damaging" prices!
So, yes Ben, with that thought in mind, keep looking as you may find something BOB related at a cheaper price. Even during those days, I mangaged to find my first B-type (mint) for £80, MKIII goggles for £30; MKIVs for £45 when prices for such items could be £100 more.
