Absolutely agree with you Chris. I am lucky enough to have examples of b types in both states so would not alter one. Also I probably imbue these objects with too much cultural significance so the thought of changing what is a historical artifact just to fit the notion of the ideal to me is a little bit strange. Another side effect of having worked in museums.

But as you so rightly say the owner of an item has the right to do whatever they want with it.
