I mis-stated: Actually, the fleck pattern I am aiming at for my repro hose is identical to the pattern in the photo from Hendon. 4 dashes per fleck.
Ben, yes I think it all depended what rubber was available at a given time by a given manufacturer. The same applies to the colour of 32 patt MW bladders (red, orange, pink, grey etc).
