Searching through old mails and posts, I finally figured out who this 'Steve'was and emailed him.
The gen is there were 3 pairs made. It soon turned out these boots would cost way more than the GBP 300 Steven had foreseen.
Consequently the project was scrapped and as the cobbler who made them has since passed away, there's no chance on a rerun.
Fortunately for me he had one of those three pairs (the pair in your picture, Joel) still at his place, so I managed to persuade him to sell them to me.
They were a size 11 and as I'm a 9 1/2 or 10, I took a bit of a gamble. It worked out just fine luckily as they fit me perfectly!!
And yes, they breath AM! If I had to fault them, I'd have to say the famous seam could've been made a bit more evenly. That's really nitpicking though!
The toe is perfect. Not the pointy type you see on all current repro's, but the nice rounded - or more square if you like - type.
I've not come across a repro more true to form then these.
They've had their first few flights and fly well next to looking very good.

Cheers, Toine
