Response to covers for 10A/7063 receivors
Did you purchase them on a headphone set? There was one on ebay a few days ago.
I had one of the earphones myself, and was told that it was from an Army headset, despite being AM marked. The odd and oversized screw cap I thought was just an odd one someone had put on until I saw a complete set of headphones, with those covers, and realised that was how they were worn. I am not sure if they are made from inferior material but basically you cant clean them! They have a very rough surface, and quality-wise are much poorer in finish to my RAF helmet pair.
Neil (Maecus) is the person youre looking for. I sent him the large screw on cover I had for him to retain as a pattern should anyone want one made. His email is maecus(at)ntlworld.com (usual change).
Hs covers are first class, I have had those for both C Type and B Type receivers, and the former particularly are indistinguishable from the originals.
