Hello, Im a new addition to your forum, a WW2 RAAF collector of uniforms and anything RAAF militaria from Melbourne, Australia. I have been offered what I think is a WW2 RAAF sergeant tunic. I say 'what I think' as the tag on the inner collar has the letters A (broad arrow) F, Made in Australia, size 22. It has bakelite KC black buttons, sergeant stripes on left sleeve only, eagle insignia on shoulders, no mothing and comes with a 7 1/8ths forage cap with no buttons or badge which have been removed. There is a ribbon bar for a 1939-45 Defence Medal and other medals appropriate to WW2. Does this sound authentic WW2 RAAF? The sale price was $165 which seems fair as I.S. Wright in Melbourne sell these tunics for over $300. I think it is either sergeant aircrew or ground staff.

I have also picked up lately a wartime issue BD blouse for an observer and some RAAF WW2 forage caps. I dont know if anyone in the UK is after one of these forage caps but I can get them. Looking to buy a large size WW2 RAAF uniform to fit me. I have a postwar one which seems to have shrunk. If I cant get one then the WPG WW2 RAF uniform might have to suffice with suitable AUSTRALIA shoulder flashes which some RAAF types wore. Can anyone tell me about the quality of these WPG uniforms? And if you think they're good value? Thanks, Kim
