We know that RAF, RCAF etc airmen under training (and also British ATC Cadets who had been accepted as aircrew) wore a white flash in the peak of their side caps. But does anyone know what colour the South Africans wore?

The large photo clearly shows an airman of the SAAF but with a flash in the front of his cap that does not appear to be white. I'd guess the cap is khaki, might the flash be orange, blue or something else? A few months ago someone posted a note on this site to the effect that his grandfather wore one in yellow (see
