Greetings all,
Can anyone please tell me if officers had different haircuts to OR's as in short back and sides?.
Many thanks
Howard.

Hi Howard,
I don't think for one minute that there were seperate styles of haircut for officers and OR's ! The only exception to this that i can think of would of course be a No:1 cut all over - lol!
Obviously, Officers were expected to keep a reasonable length of hair on them (if they weren't bald/going bald), but haircut styles at that period in time would dictate what was the trend.
However, saying that, todays forces do indeed have officers with No:1 haircuts, but this depends on what their role is i.e. a deployed field squadron, etc, and of course their current rank. I personally know an Air Commodore who is sporting a No:1 haircut but that is because he had lost a lot of receding hair and didn't want the proverbial 'monks patch' on top!
