I am in the process of creating and stringing my Wiring Loom for my D Oxygen Mask. I was wondering when RAF Pilot's where in their total field gear, how did they arrange their masks oxygen tube, wiring loom (the microphone & head set) in the fighter's cockpit?

A.Where was the wiring looms jack outlet located in the cockpit of the aircraft?

B.Did the pilot tucked in under his May West, coming out the bottom, then put into the aircrafts jack outlet?

C....or did the pilot let it hang lose in front of him or was it placed over their shoulders - then into the aircrafts jack outlet?

D.Where was the pilot's oxygen canister located in the aircraft cockpit? Was there any special arrangement they preferred?

E.Did some of these apparatuses hinder their performance while in combat, or getting out of a troubled aircraft?

Any information would be of a great help

Thank you Dale

Spitfire Pilots' Notes are out there online for free, but I've lost the URL. Google should dig them out for you.

IIRC, the oxygen bottles were behind the seat.

Hope that's of use,

Thank you very much Paul, the Tech drawings are really interesting and are quite informative. The keys give me some understanding how the cockpit is laid out and what is what. This will give me a start on how to go about arranging my wiring loom, etc.
