Just a quick notice that I've added some new badging to the line-up. Not all are shown but here's a quick rundown. The images are the pre-production proof copies. I expect to have these in stock by Dec 1.
RCAF: Straight-wing pattern aircrew halfwings for B, N, AG, and WAG. Feathers are the correct pinkish silk thread. Also, embroidered crowns for RCAF F/Sgt and WO2 (both use the same crown).
I'm sure you know Chris, although you didnt mention, that the round signaller badge was for RAF Regiment only. Authorised in 1944 under Air Ministry Order 207/44, and worn on the lower left sleeve between elbow and cuff. Other comms trades in the RAF, both air and ground wore the more familiar 'fist and sparks' badge, still in use today.

Yes. I was aware of the RAF Regt specific nature of the badge. I've quite a few originals on blue-grey but only one on dark backing. I'm reproducing the wireless badge as well along with the ASR badge. No market for any of these, mind you. But I'll have them available!

....here in the UK, we have the military powerboat trust, who are based within the military port of Marchwood (near Hythe, Southampton, Hants.) They have/know a couple of people who have restored a couple of ASR launches, including a 'whaleback'!
With regards your mention of the RCAF ground trade badges and in particular the photographer badge. These badges (11 in total) were issued from August 1943. Originally seven were issued with the remaining four coming in between August 1944 and June 1945. They were not popular and not widely worn, but all take the same form as a 'tombstone' shape (with the curved side down) and an emblem in the centre.
Its odd that most you can pick up for about $5 to $10, but some of the later ones (in for a shorter time) can fetch very high prices, the photographer included. I have only seen about two for sale, with a similar number for the electrician and marine crew badges. These have fetched prices of about $150 to $300 on ebay, although if you can find them in Canada / USA they made be cheaper. The latter two are the ones I am missing, the photographer the last one I was able to find.
