      While at a 4th of July party, Palin quitting Alaska came up in conversation. There was snickering but then one woman in her sixties spoke up and said she likes Sarah Palin and hopes she runs in 2012. I laughed and she was indignant and I realized she was serious.
      I've known this woman to have liberal views, especially about woman's rights so I was surprised.
      "What do you like about her?" I asked.
      "She's a great public speaker." the woman answered.

      I changed the subject.
