Where have I been

Hello board,
I just thought I would drop a note here since I haven't been around so much.

Q: "where have I been?"

A: busy

I kept a promise to my wife and built her a home library. It doesn't have a rolling ladder (not quite enough space for that) but it's got 7' tall shelves. 12 feet wide on one side of the room, and 8 foot wide on the other.

I put in a hardwood floor around the perimeter and some super nice carpet in the middle. I added an antique door to the existing doorway (with a lot of work).

Here's the door from inside the room. (note, I haven't complete the casing yet)

(note to self: framing in and installing a door in a curved wall is a bitch)

And I closed in a large opening in a wall to increase the secluded feel in the room.

Here's a look in the room from the opposite side.

I've taken a couple months off from working and am beginning to feel like my old self again, which is nice.

Today, I went out and bought a used motorhome. I've put aside enough money to last the summer and I'm going to be a stay-at-home dad with $2 for the summer. He and I are going to be having some camping adventures all summer long.

Here's the website of the land yacht I just bought.

Anyway, I haven't been around much, and I don't expect you'll be hearing from me again anytime soon. So, good luck all.

Enjoy the Kool-Aide (made from real crap)

That is a gorgeous library $8. I can't imagine how hard it would be to install a door on a curved wall.

Summer off, camping with the boy, adventures - yeah, I am envious. Enjoy!

That looks so sweet!

Really impressive, $8!

I have some millwork I need done in my new office space - care to come consult in DC?

I realize that that's the worst part of your leaving your old job. I'll probably never see you again on the Government's dime!

I'm jealous as well. We have two huge Billy bookcases from IKEA stuffed to the gills, then all the rest of our books are piled high on our nightstands. Not a pretty sight.

Hope you're well.

DUDE!!

Nice work on the door happy.gif I imagine it was a bitch to frame.

You gonna get you one of those little car hauler/trailer things to haul your car behind your motor home? Or at least a bike rack? It can be a pain in the ass to get somewhere, get hooked up, then find out you forgot something and need to run to the store... seriously.

Anyway... It's nice to see ya man. Glad things are going well for you happy.gif
