Anyone ever make one? Have any recipes, suggestions or what-not...

I looked on food network and found a few options, I just am unsure if this will be good.

My friend makes a chocolate walnut (I think it's walnut) one and it's very yummy!

There's one that my local grocery store bakery makes, and I buy one (they're little personal-sized ones, like about the size of a cupcake) every time I go. They are amazing.

Never tried to make one, though.

Good to know they can be yummy. The recipes call for a lot of egg.

Oh oh oh! I used to make a flourless chocolate cake for a restaurant I managed -- it was dense and rich and wonderful. I think I got the recipe from my Ghirardelli cookbook. Want it?

I'm having issues. I found the cookbook, but it's not in there. I've checked the other cookbooks I thought it might be in, and nothing. I'll keep looking, even if it means going into the attic on a 92 degree day!!!

Speaking of Adkins...I tried a peanut butter brownie recipe once that substituted protein powder for flour (it wasn't official Adkins, but in the same vein; hopefully real Adkins does things better).

Blech. All you get is a chocolate flavored sponge.

Now that I think about it, I must've got the recipe in an email. I think it was titled "Adkins deit plAn--loose wait now!"

Thank you Lizz! (Sorry for the late thanks after you did all that digging... I played hookey yesterday and will post a pic later)

I still have not baked as I only had two eggs last night. And to the store I go.

So I baked last night. Made a flourless cake with brandy in it.

Had a sip of brandy, it's rather yuck.

I also baked peanut butter cookies in celebration of Friday's PB cookie day.

How was the cake?

They make great peanut butter cookies at the place downstairs. They are as big as dinner plates. I buy them in pairs sad.gif

It tasted like a rich brownie. Should have been served with ice cream happy.gif

And dinner plate sized peanut butter cookies? I want to eat that. I make cookies little so I never feel bad about eating 3 or 5 or more.

Warm with ice cream and some kind of fancy brancy sauce

Oooo I just remembered there's a pub here that used to serve handmade whiskey ice cream. I don't care for whiskey (or brandy) but as an ice cream flavour it is to die for. I was so sad to hear that they don't have it anymore. Too expensive for the owner to buy. If I would have known, I would have bought a carton.
