The beets - the sordid truth

The truth is out there Louise.

Seek and ye shall find;

that beets are apparently a good source of boron which influences the production of sex hormones. Beetroot juice is thought to be an aphrodesiac. What a naughty wicked veggie.

Now why would your average teen know this? Is there some beet traffiking going on, underground economy? Roofies are passe, beware of beets getting slipped into your Coke Zero? Beetjuice kegger parties the newest fad?

It was all fun and games until my kid started freebasing beets.

20/20 needs to investigate.

You may astound your class with this knowledge Louise.

Your average backyard gardener, now drug lord to a Grow Op.

You mock the backyard gardener, but I have both beets and opium growing in plain sight of the authorities

"Jitterbug Perfume" was a beet-based book.

This thread reminded me off the 'cheesing' cat pee drug episode of South Park.

magical mockery of the movie "Heavy Metal."

That is interesting! A place I like to go to for lunch has a great fresh juice menu, and one of my favorites is "The Mood Enhancer", which is beet, carrot, spinach & apple. It seriously does improve your mood. Pretty expensive though, which is why I bought my own juicer, which I never use.

Did you know that searching for an image of "sexy beets" turns up not one, not two but three pics of Miley Cyrus.

Miley is a conundrum. There is no explaining.

I got your beet

I've actually never eaten a beet. My parents grew them but they just seem a bit gruesome to me.
