I'm just going to have to chill out until 3 rolls around and the great partner stampede out the door begins, but still. Bleh. Want to be sitting next to a pool someplace with a fruity umbrella drink.
Too much caffiene and not enough work to do and I am bored out of my freaking mind.
Also I just started wearing mascara, and I can see my own eyelashes when I blink. It's totally distracting me. Thanks for the drug-induced ADD, caffiene!
I'm almost at new mascara buying stage, and it is always a huge deal. Still think I like clinique the best, but Sephora has a little sampler thing with like 8 different ones and I might try that.
I don't mind working today. However, I was recently told by my boss that the other tech services guy and myself are allowed to leave early (3:00-3:30). The problem is that I was supposed to go out with a coworker for drinks after work and they are not leaving early. Now, I'm not supposed to tell anybody that I can leave early - was told just to sneak out sorta.
I would just say "I can't get drinks, I'm leaving early". I think the point is, not to tell peole you got work permission to get free time off, not that you won't be in the office.
If not say in a Marcia Brady voice "something suddenly came up".
I had one once, too for my jaw. They forgot to give me earplugs, and it was the most terrifying thing I think I've ever gone through. I made them bring me out. Even after the earplugs it was no fun. Thank god for creative visualization . . . I pretended I was on a tropical island and it actually worked!
My office is leaving an hour early today and I'm meeting a new friend for a drink. I'm excited about it! He seems really cool and funny. I'm kind of stressed right now and I know the conversation will be pleasantly superficial. I love new friends.
...Dr. Zh should go and prepare to say something to the coworker who he was going to have drinks with and just vomit on their desk. No one will question you not going after that. And no one will question you leaving early. If you don't want to make a mess, just fart alot. The coworker will make excuses for you.
Speaking of work.... I ended up getting that job with Environment Canada, and I spent 2 hours filling out security clearance forms yesterday. Cause you know, they need to know where I've been living for the past 10 years, every country I've ever visited, and 4 character references so that I can snoop through people's crap.
And.. today was my second articling interview of the week (articling = the first year of working for a law firm before you're actually called to the bar) Today's went pretty well, and I need to send off thank you emails to them shortly, but I'm conflicted if I actually want to work for a firm where I wouldn't really be doing any criminal work. :S
And masquera... I just bought the new one from Loreal where they have the "tubes" that increase the length by "up to" 80%... and I don't really like it.
Hell no I'm not listing Jiggy... the govt doesn't need to know what I was up to in hawaii.
Thanks guys. It's just a summer job, but yep, it can't hurt at all to have the govt as an employer... unless it's N. Korea, I'd probably turn that job down.
I haven't looked into the BC process yet, but I know the people that graduated in ontario this past year were spending days filling out the application package. I do know that if between now and then I get any sort of a criminal charge against me, I'm completely screwed.
I'm sofa king pissed right now. Trying to keep myself from sending a very pissed off email to a title company. I think this may be the perfect excuse to leave early. I can't be trusted right now.
I'd much rather be the firm librarian than a lawyer. Might be blinded by 'big law', but those people give up their lives. You can make pretty good coin as a Westlaw/Lexis rep without all the headaches. But I don't know...never been/wanted to be a lawyer.
I'm actually pretty good friends with my West rep. We email each other pretty frequently about random crap. She just takes orders for West, but we crack each other up. The 'campus' in Minnesota employs about 5,000 people. She ain't a help line person though. You can make pretty good scratch if you know Wexis.
Mascara: haven't tried any new ones as of late but the Rimmel Stiletto one looks wicked, if it does what is says it should.
Rory: Congrats on the job! Apparently baby formula tins = hidden treasures
Kohs: when I had my first MRIs done 18 years ago, they were one HOUR long each.
Sure 'relaxing', after you get your heart rate down from 500 bpm, remember to not move and INCH, get past saying 'this is not a coffin, this is not a coffin, this is not a coffin' repeatedly and pretend the machinegun noises going off in the background are really raindrops lightly tapping a windowpane.
