Lauren let me do her hair for once. Now she wants me to braid it all the time. And God, is the side of my fridge filthy.
Here's the girls golfing last night:
I had no idea how much patience is required when taking three young girls miniature golfing for the first time. Megan would stand behind the ball and hit it like she was shooting pool. Hysterical.
And here's my favorite. This priceless face. Boy, was she mad.
My 7 year old niece is also very picky about when she "allows" anyone to fix her hair. Usually it's hanging in her eyes and making everyone but her nuts.
When I was a kid (back when dinosaurs ruled the earth, I know) my mother did my hair and if I complained she told me we were going to the hair dresser and getting it all cut off. Now if my niece doesnt want her hair done she just says "NO!" and my sis just shrugs it off saying its not worth the fight.
If she's at my house, I might force her by telling her we're not leaving until I fix her hair, so she'll let me, then take it down as soon as we're in the car.
Carson and Lauren recently grew their bangs out. Carson's is now almost all one length and tucks behind her ears.....thank God. In the spring, she got two warnings at school about her hair being in her face and one more would have meant a demerit. I clipped it back every morning but she always took the clips out. Argh.
Megan informed me yesterday that she wants long hair. I am sad. I wanted it cut like this before school started:
I guess at five, she can sorta make her own decisions about how long or short her hair is.
Probably not. My first grade school picture looked alarmingly like Dorothy Hamill. I guess I just want her to have what she wants as opposed to telling her I think she looks cuter with the shorter hair. She's five. I don't know if she cares if she looks cute or not.
She'd been swimming for about three hours at this point and was very tired. She didn't want her picture taken. No surprise she passed out in the car on the way home.
You can kinda see Carson's - that's the oldest right? - adult face a little bit now. She still looks like a kid for sure, but she's losing that young kid look.
