Back in 2003 the RCMP in BC started using Camaros for highway patrol

There are nine police cars outside my building this morning, surrounding an Association building. This usually means someone interesting is visiting, but I can't figure out who would visit the National Restaurant Association that would need that kind of escort.

I think I remember that Maine used Trans Ams as cop cars when I was a teenager. I wonder if they still do? Tam?

The coolest cop car I ever saw was outside my building at work one time. I was standing outside and there was this beat-up old yellow taxi parked nearby. I had just looked at it when all of a sudden the whole thing lit up like a christmas tree with strobe lights flashing all over it and then it shot off at about 80 mph.

Many DC cabs are the opposite - former Crown Vic cop cars. A lot of them still have "Police Interceptor" emblazoned on their bumpers.

Ronald McDonald probably has a lot of people who want him dead.

Cool antique cop-car photo.
I like the late '70's charger in the background.
Just the tailend of it.

Minnesota uses mostly the Crown-Vic's

They used to have some 5.0 mustangs in the Highway Patrol for the freeway flyers.

Some of the locals use the 4-door chargers.
They get a hemi induction motor you know.
Vrrrroooommmm - Vrrrroooommmm!
And they have SUV's too.

Of course nothing near the scale of the 396 and 426 cubic inch ones of the Richard Petty days.

From time to time, the usual moment seems terribly beautiful.

The JSO uses Crown Vic's and Chevy Lumina's.

The DHS/Border Patrol uses the Chargers though. I service their cars. I get to test the lights and siren and all kinds of shit. Makes me feel like a 10yr old again wink.gif

There is an ex-cop...

July 23 2009, 11:17 PM

...in my apt. complex selling an ex-cop police interceptor Crown Vic for $3750. There have been Z28 Camaros and 5.0 Mustangs in my field of influence. Now it is just old Crown Vics and new Chargers. I like the way the Chargers look.

I was waiting for a friend after paying for parking at the SeaTac airport once. I once saw a Crown Vic bristeling with antennas pull up in a no-parking no-stopping zone, park and a 20something hipster got out, marched inside and 20 minutes later he emerged with a couple of friends who did not look like cops, got in and took off. I have wanted a used, good condition, Crown Vic ever since.

I am
