You know there still going to be selling 'A-Roid' shirts out there on Yawkey...
I don't even care anymore. They should just release the whole list from '03 and be done with it.
ETA: I hope they boo the hell out of Ortiz.

Isn't this old news? I coulda sworn it already came out that Ortiz was using steroids.

He said he couldn't be sure he hadn't accidentally taken something in the past.
This is definitley news because the tests were done in 03, before the Red Sox Championsips. In my eyes those championships are tainted. But no more or less than the whole game has been tainted for the last 15-20 years.

Yeah. I guess I've just had the assumption that pretty much everyone has the steroid skeleton in their closet.
Except, of course, Braves players. No Brave has ever done steroids.

I've followed the local angle on the steriod story.
In march of 2005 Todd Helton was accused to using by the former play-by-play guy for the rockies.
He went ballistic about it and made a bunch of threats and stuff, but never actually got around to filing that lawsuit.
Prior to 2005 and that accusation his career numbers looked like this:
Averages per season
154 games
35.1 HR's
.340 BA
His worst year since coming up (his rookie season) was a 25 HR year.
Since the accusation was made, his averages look like this:
Averages per season
132 games
14.8 HR's
.302 BA
his best year for HR's in that stretch was 20 HR's in 2005, and his power has flagged ever since.
I'm not saying he's a user, but it seems that even being accused makes a player weaker and slower with the bat.

Why? Do you think the juiced players were the minority? I mean, weren't the Sox playing against other juiced teams?

The curse lived in the psyche of the Red Sox fandom. It's gone. Steroids or no steroids, being a Red Sox fan will never be as it was prior to 2004.

If you could only work in your chosen career for 10 years and could take a drug to make sure you were the very best for those short years and made as much money as possible, how could you say no? How could anyone?
I think steroids are going to have to be legalized and monitored. There is no way they are going away.

Some say it's inevitable that they will become an ordinary part of mainstream society. Everyday average people will use them.

So... how many of you are posting juiced?

I'm juiced on iced tea and sugar. We're all on some drug, arent we?
