to offer to pick up the tab for dinner (pizza) and then go ahead and order enough for everyone without first checking to see what everyone else likes or doesn't like? This happened while we were at the beach. I found it a wee bit inconsiderate.
Was everyone planning pizza, then someone offered to pay? Or was it like oh, I'll grab some pizza so no one has to think of dinner - Surprise, I got pizza and paid for it.
No, we'd all agreed pizza for dinner one night was a good option. My dad offered to pay, then my sister and her husband decided to pay since we were celebrating their daughter's birthday that night.
After we got back from the beach that day and all had a chance to shower and get cleaned up, I went up to the kitchen and got out the menu to see what the place had. My sister came in, saw what I was doing, and said "Oh, I already ordered." I decided not to say anything; it just seemed like the better idea. At the same time, if it'd be me ordering, I certainly would have gotten an idea from the other adults what they liked, as well as what their kids would eat.
Personally, I would be happy that someone else took on the dinner responsibilities. I can pick off whatever I dont like from pizza. It would be different if I were allergic to something and couldnt eat it all together. Sometimes I find myself just looking for something to get upset over. This would fall in that category.
For 7 kids and 8 adults, they ordered three cheese, one barbecue chicken (which ONLY they liked), one with everything (which maybe 3 adults tried), and one pepperoni which was gone in minutes because everyone liked that.
I can assure you, when Dan and I ordered Chinese for everyone later in the week, it went waaaaaaay differently.
If everyone was talking pizza, it is kinda thoughtless (I liked that word whoever used it) to not ask what everyone likes... even if you don't get enough of something you at least tried.
Although I'm a plain cheese pizza person so I never complain and just pick off if there are toppings.
ETA that feels like a small amount of pizza... at 8 slices a pie that's 48 slices...
