After seeing the end of the last one, with the passing of the torch to Sheila Leboof, how could you not know this was coming? They practically punched you in the face with it.
Yeah...but it was so weak! Plus hasn't anyone in the marketing department come back and told Speilberg that Shia isn't the marketing draw they thought he was going to be?
They could have had Gary Coleman in the lead role and it would have sucked. What they need to find are good writers.
Alien eggs!? WTF!? It's been HOW many years and that's the best storyline they could come up with? Cate Blanchett was wasted in that movie. Everyone was. What a pile of crap.
Its looking more and more like another Indiana Jones movie might be a possibility. While in France to accept a career award at the Deauville Film Festival, Harrison Ford spoke to Le Figaro and had this to say about Indy 5:
The story for the new Indiana Jones is in the process of taking form. Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and myself are agreed on what the fifth adventure will concern, and George is actively at work. If the script is good, Ill be very happy to put the costume on again.
This goes hand-in-hand with a story from earlier in the summer where Crystal Skull co-star Shia LaBeouf told the BBC that Spielberg had cracked the story on it and I think theyre gearing that up.
Honestly, I love new chapters in all my favorite stories usually - but I will say that if I was going to go purchase the Indy movies, I'd probably not buy the Crystal Skull and not think my collection was missing anything. I'd buy the TV series first probably.
That said, if they get it this time, and could pull off a reboot a la Star Trek, I'd fan-boy right up the bar in a second.
This is the reason why we are going to see another piece of shit from Speilberg and Lucas...(source, worldwideboxoffice.com)
