Today in NY was one of the best weather days we've had this year. Temps in the mid 70's, zero humidity, bright sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. So I went to one of my favorite beaches. On a normal July or August day this beach usually has several hundred people swarming all over it. Today, on one of the best days of the year I counted a grand total of 9 people there, including myself. What is with that? Is it just the word "September" that makes people all scared of beaches? I'm not complaining or anything, because it was kind of nice to have the beach mostly to myself, but wtf? The water temperature was even still in the swimable range. Maybe not quite in the August range, but certainly more tolerable than what it's like in June, when tons of people decide to jump in and then run out screaming.
Oh, and on a related note I took this video today, and it came out really weird. I took it with my old camera and not with my good camera, and maybe that accounts for why it came out this way, but anyway here it is. Looking at the water from a certain angle today it was all sparkly and cool and that's what I was hoping to capture. Instead I captured a crazy looking video where sunshine comes down looking like a rain shower...
