I have been out of work for almost a year. Time FLIES when you're having fun! Anyway, after having various medical issues the past year, I am finally willing and able to start working out. I joined the LA Fitness by my house. It's been years since I belonged to a gym. Half the equipment in there is totally foreign to me.

Any other gym members here? What do you like to do best at the gym?

The best thing I do is make excuses for not going. 

Can't do that. My husband works out of the house and will nag me to death if I don't go.

I'm all about elliptical and sit-up bench thingie.

I joined the women's only gym up the street from my house this year and was really loving the pool classes since my knees are a total mess and that's really all I can do right now. I was stunned how much of a work-out I was getting and despite my germaphobia and challenges with chlorine I was really loving it and feeling a difference.

Then they closed the gym on Sept. 16th.

I can go to another women's gym about 7 miles away but it's a shithole so I'm super bummed.

The pool at this gym looked really nice and empty. I'll have to get a pair of goggles since I finally gave up on my 11 year old LASIK surgery and bought myself some contact lenses yesterday. It was fun while it lasted, LASIK!

It seems weird to me that LA Fintess is all over the place.  It's the closest one to my house, I like the gym but the people who work there are meatheads.

The one thing that made me excited about all the girls going to school this year was the chance to be able to go to the gym. We belong to Gold's and I NEVER go.

The girls just finished their second full week of school and I haven't gone yet. And I have been really busy! I painted the family room, discovered mold and cleared out the storage room, and have volunteered at school five mornings and one afternoon. But I do need to learn to fit it in.

When I do go, I like walking fast uphill on the treadmill. I think I'd like to start a yoga class and also swimming laps again, something I did when we belonged to the Y years ago.
