Jon Gosselins role on Jon & Kate Plus 8 is being dramatically scaled back and the show will be renamed Kate Plus 8. Jons relationship with TLC has been strained for months and the fallout of Jons often bizarre and inappropriate behavior seems to have resulted in the network changing direction. Given the recent changes in the family dynamics, it only makes sense for us to refresh and recalibrate the program to keep pace with the family. The family has evolved and we are attempting to evolve with it; we feel that Kates journey really resonates with our viewers, reps for TLC said in a statement.
So he's getting shoved in more ways than one. I say the revamped show dies anyway.
Coincidentally, InTouch reports Jon has filed papers this morning to delay the divorce another 90 days so communication between him and Kate can improve:
"This will enable Kate and me to restore our relationship as cooperative parents and to open up our lines of communication. I hope that she will be as receptive and enthusiastic as I am to do what is best for our family." He also pleaded with her to set aside their anger so they can start interacting amicably. "I would like to get back with Kate as a partner in parenting," Jon tells In Touch. "Even though we were heading for a divorce, it appeared that Kate had been suffering from this divorce as much as I had. That's why I asked my attorney to put the brakes on this divorce so I could try to regain control over the future of our family. So Kate and I could join on a cooperative course that would benefit our family -- not destroy it."

I think it all part of a design by him to get the show off the air - starting with him. I secretly think all the affairs and weird behavior are stunts to get the show canceled and possibly even save his marriage.
It's difficult to think those words were spoken with an ounce of sincerity when that douche is shopping around a reality show called Divorced Dads Club with Lindsay Lohan's douche dad.

The ratings for (Jon & Kate Plus 8) have fallen 84 percent since they announced their divorce in June, so something had to be done. Of course Kate is a mean unlikeable bitch too, so god knows why (firing Jon) would help. They should just do a Lord of the Flies thing and abandon the kids on an island and film that. Aaden will be the Piggy of the group. Mady will be the Jack. Dont be fooled, that bitch is ambitious and will let nothing stand in her way.
What kills me most, is how hard would it have been to paint himself as a real and sympathetic victim here? I mean, in the other corner is KATE. She's been belittling and berating him ON TV for years.
If he'd had any brains, or had any good handlers even, it would be Jon and not Kate that won America's sympathy, she'd be decried as a monster out for fame and cash at the expense of her kids, and Jon would have the show alone. The case was all there, and he tried to sell it.
Then he imploded. Instead, he's the pudgy philanderer who dates then gets dumped by chicks who pass out face-first into walls, and who bangs the nanny when it's his turn to watch the kids.
Apparently, Jon is not too happy about getting the boot. He has insisted film crews for their TLC show stay off his property and stop filming his family. Of course, his lawyer is spinning it that it has nothing to do with his getting fired, just his commitment to try to regain some semblance of normalcy for himself, Kate, and his poor children. Whatev.
At least he semi-mans up through his lawyer's statement: "He's acknowledged hes made mistakes and shouldn't have been running around. He took advantage of his freedom after he got it. It hurt his reputation. He's taken responsibility and you don't see him running wild any more. He hasn't been out partying. He's taken a look at his himself in the mirror and he wasn't happy, it's not who he was. He never cheated on his wife. His wife is the one who ended the relationship,"
"I'm saddened and confused by Jon's public media statements. Jon has never expressed any concerns to me about our children being involved in the show and, in fact, is on the record as saying he believes the show benefits our children and was taping on Friday with the kids.

I really am sorry to keep bumping this thread but I think the whole thing just keeps getting funnier.
Jon Gosselin is now saying that before he was fired from TLC, he going to quit anyway. This reminds me of high school...."well, before you broke up with me, I was going to break up with you anyway."
Jon's lawyer states Jon is trying to protect his family from TLC, a "monster that has exploited and manipulated his family and has been partially responsible for the breakdown of his marriage."
I agree there's a monster(s) that did the above. Their names are Jon and Kate.
