I'm having a great time. I was here before in 2003 and I have to say this one of my favourite cities. I like the feel and the accent is great on the guys
The weather has been really good except for today. It's supposed to rain this afternoon which is gonna suck because tonight I'm going to my first MLB game! Red Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays. Dr Zh and I are meeting up with Lisa for drinks in 1/2 hr. I will be silently rooting for the Jays. Silently because it's very very clear how much these people love the Red Sox.
Yesterday I went on a bus tour to see the fall colours. It was beautiful but it's gonna be another couple of weeks until the colours are at 100%. I'll post any pics that turned out.
Awesome game! The Jays were leading 10-0 when we left. Wooooo!
I know. I know. The Sox are in the finals and are already on vacation and their B team was playing tonight but I had a great time and it was great to cheer for the Jays!!
Lisa is the sweetest chick ever! Beautiful and funny. It was so great to spend time with her. I wish I was spending more time here.
I have to say Dr Zh has been the greatest host. He's sweet and funny and just so helpful. Add my name to his fan club roster
Well, tomorrow is the last leg of my vacation. Meeting up with even more of you crazy people on NYC.
Oh and I thought I ordered a hot dog, all the time thinking the guy was gonna whip it at my head, but we all got sausages. Not the same but still good.
I was at a game a few years ago with some friends, in the faaar right field cave seats - far enough back that no food people were coming our way. I was yelling obnoxiously loud and this little old man behind me tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around, assuming he was going to ask me to shut the hell up, but instead he said softly "If you can get the hot dog man to come up here and bring me and my wife some dogs, I'll buy you dinner."
Three days later, I had to go to the doctors because I had developed scabs on my vocal chords from being 1,000% obnoxious... but at least I got an old man and his wife some hot dogs!

I had sooooooo much fun with Arwen & Doc Z yesterday! She is just incredibly lovely and a blast to hang out with! She brought me presents, too!
She has a voice like warm Canadian maple syrup.
Anyway, the Sox lost spectacularly to the Blue Jays, and Arwen did NOT silently cheer. But you know - the Blue Jays were on fire, and if it weren't for that, it would've been a really boring game.
I miss her already, and I can't wait for her to come to Boston again!
I was on the bus on the way into NYC, the bus that has wifi, and I got a twitter saying that tickets for the Colbert Report had just been released for tonight. I went to the colbertnation.com and after waiting FOREVER for the page to load, I actually got a ticket!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
I put my luggage in storage at the bus station and took a cab to the studio where there was much waiting, and cheering and waiting and waiting. Then finally we were let in. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
There was a warm-up comedian and when he asked if there was anyone in the audience from another country, I said "Canada" and he said "No, I mean a real country."
Then Colbert came out and answered some audience questions, I couldn't think of one, and then the show started with much cheering.
Oh I forgot, while he was waiting for the start and sitting at The Desk, he started throwing out his red Wrist Strong bracelets AND I CAUGHT ONE!!!
The show was very funny. It'll be the one with Norm from Cheers and he will be insulting Japan as a potential Olympic site...also some guy talking about the human genome or something. What can I say, I was star-struck.
What else...the studio is WAY smaller than it appears on TV.
Well, I have two days left before my vacation ends.
I meet up with tOdd this morning and Aurora and Dr Zh and I are going to Central Park this afternoon and then we're going to meet up with maestra who's also here. Then maybe a Broadway show this evening for the As Tomorrow, I'm hoping for the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and ground zero and then, who knows?
Yesterday Aurora and I took the Staten Island Ferry and saw the Statue of Liberty and a great view of Manhattan in the thick, rainy fog. We got soaked because, not only was it rainy, it was humid++. After a couple of hours, we felt like drowned rats. Lucky for us we managed to met up with maestra for a few drinks at the height of our beauty
maestra is hilarious and tells great stories (much like she is on the bored) and I am so very glad she made the trip. She had planned to present us with an extra special gift by bringing Dr Zh's brother with her but, apparently, he doesn't go out in the rain. He must be made of sugar.
Then I went to a comedy club with the Canadian off-bored friends that Aurora came with. I wasn't sure what the quality of the comics was going to be for only $10 but there were 4 and they did progressively get better and by the end they were great. There was a "two purchase" minimum so I consider it win-win when I get to laugh while forced to eat mozza sticks and cheesecake.
Today we are meeting VB and touring around Central Park and then it's off to a Broadway matinee. I have no idea what I am seeing but it's my first Broadway play so, really, who cares?
Well, today is my last vaction day. Booo! I leave this aft and I just texted Aurora and she is on her way to the airport so the Canadian invasion is over for now. Back to work tomorrow. I feel like I have been away forever.
Thanks for following my trip with me everyone. I'll post whatever pics are worthy when I get home.
I will now go back to my usual posting of s and LOLs
Was so nice to finally meet you, Arwen! Seriously fun hanging out with ya. Most people would've grown weary of all the stories regarding my independent wealth and musclebound physique, but you really maintained interest like a champ. You Canadians are way too friggin' nice.
