At least you got the original memo on this. I had no clue light jeans were unacceptable until August of this year. My friend Abby came over and purged my closet of all my jeans (and most of my shirts too). She then took me shopping and I dropped $350 on clothes, which I doubt I've spent collectively in the past 5 years on clothes.

Dark colored jeans are more flattering. But wear what you like. Get out the tapered leg, pleated front, no back pocket, acid wash if that's your thing!
