Yesterday was the annual Monk Seal count in Hawaii and I volunteered to cover the area between Waihee beach park and Kahakuloa Bay. I grabbed my club and headed out. (How else can you make sure they don't move?)

Looks like some folks want to claim animal cruelty as a cultural right. I know people might not care about this as much as dog fighting but cruelty is cruelty, right?

"No Meth Around" is a message not to use meth. Because, you know, you need to be in your right mind while cock fighting. I suppose.

The beach here is actually pretty nice.

Pebbles

I borrowed my buddies GPS to mark the location of any seals I spotted. It thinks I'm really tall.

Eventually, the pebbles got big.

I've been stumbling over these rocks for 2 freaking hours and no seals! If I do find one, I'm gonna throw a rock at it!

This was pretty much as far as you could walk. It got cliffy farther along.
