Thanks, Troo!
A little more info, now that I'm now as high.
Since our house was built in 1947, and the rest of it, including the kitchen (remodeled a couple of years ago), we are are trying to keep any changes within its "era". We decided to go cottage-y for the bathroom. It
think above the beadboard will be a barely there whisper light blue, and then we'll have mainly glass for accents (jars and such).
The wood floor in the photo is going to be refinished - we're doing that, and sealing it. That's the bathroom closet. We still have to install some kind of shelving.
The skinny glass french doors we bought at an estate sale for a STEAL. We're going to have to make sure the closet stays clean-ish and organized-ish, since it would be a shame to look through those doors and a bunch a crappola. heh.
Gray -
My husband only did the re-routing of some electric sockets, and making everything CFCI (won't shock you. grounded, whatever), and he put one in the closet so my electric toothbrush can live in there.
Oh, yeah, and he also installed 4 recessed/can lights in the ceiling, over the shower, closet.
AND...he will install all the "part" which we've already bought many many months ago.
We bought our "new" pedestal sink at a yard sale for $30 bucks. Lovessss it. We got our toilet from a house near ours, where they had left it for the big trash pick up day. It's was NEW! Still with some of the stickery type sales stuff on it. So, we rolled our little yard wagon down there and hauled the toilet home. HOW GROSS IS TAKING SOMEONES USED TOILET!!??? hehehe.
However, that a LONG time ago, and we installed it and used it in this very bathroom, prior to the remodel. Works like a charm. Looked clear as a whistle when we umm...acquired it.
Yeah....so, used toilets ROCK. Free = good.
Kohsdude will also install the shower stuff (handles, spouts, balh blah blah that we bought many many months ago), and also do same to sink, and will also install zeee toilet. Again.
Kohsdude and I both installed the new tub....MONTHS ago. JEBSUS in glorious Heaven it was a BIATCH. I think we both basically blew out our backs for life trying to get it all settled on mortar, and level and stuck in that alcove area.
We hired out actual professionals to do the rough plumbing, a long time ago, and hired a couple of dudes to DESTROY/demo/take it donw to the studs the room like a year and a half ago.
True fact - We lived with NO subfloor (as in you could see the dirt in the crawl space under our pier and beam house, for over 4 months.... then, new support board thing-s, then plywood. Then...STOP. For another 4 months or so. I/we had other battles we were waging in 2008, as many of you know.
All the wood work, the beadboard, and all the trim and drywall, etceeeterra, was done by painters that have basically lived at my house from 8-5 for 3 weeks. Nice guys though and they seem to have done a fine job.
I'll post pics once it's finished!
Can.not.wait.to.bathe. (we only have a shower in the other bathroom)
THANK YOU to whomever actually read all this!!!
I'm proud we got/are getting/ to the end of something that has been a hassle and stress, for tooo long. And.... it's pretty too. I'm happy. Pretty makes me happy.
Best to everyone on the bored.
Love,
