National Novel Writing Month. The objective is to write a 50K word novel between November 1 and Nov 31st. It doesn't have to be good, it just has to be done.
Shit... you can't post entire novels here. Who knew?

Oh no, is it that time of year again already??? I tried for a few days last year and totally intended to give it another shot next time around. But this year I can't. Maybe someday.
Fun idea. Especially for people who have ever toyed around with the idea of writing. Although 50,000 words / 175 pages seems like a hell of a lot to write in one month's time. I actually started a project like this a few years ago. I started writing a book with the intention of finishing it just for the challenge of it all and just to see if I could get all the way through and finish it even if it wasn't any good. I spent several months on it but got to 33,990 words / 119 pages and then lost interest. I'd still like to pick back up where I left off one day though because it's a fun story and I'd like to keep going.
One weird side-note regarding this website and my writing project is that the website mentions 50,000 words / 175 pages and my unfinished project is 33,990 words / 119 pages.
50,000 divided by 175 = 285.7 words per page
33,990 divided by 119 = 285.6 words per page
I know that doesn't mean anything but it just seemed like an odd coincidence.
Potato, I think it means that the words you are using at 0.1% too long. Please try to dumb it down a little so that you fall within the normal parameters.
Nah, I'm not doing it. Don't have the talent or the time I woulnd't even know where to begin. Just thought it is a fun idea, and knowing that here on the board we do have talented peeps (DJ, Squid, ED come to my mind), just wanted to share.
