The show is fucking brilliant. But you have to have a dark and twisted sense of humor, laced with a general disdain for societal conformity to enjoy it. Plus it's an import from Australia, and it's a given that those people aren't firing on all cylinders.
I will say this: The writers for Wilfred understand dogs, probably better than any comedy ever written. If you really watch it, you'll see that they're not really anthropomorphizing the dog as much as they are giving us a peek into how dogs really think, if we could talk to them. So on that note, it's a hell of a lot more than just a guy insulting people with a hand puppet. But I still love them both.
You know I actually watched your clip on my iPhone right after I posted and realized I totally discounted my own reasons for disliking Triumph. LOL! I don't know. There must be some subtle difference I am seeing that you are not.
Let's go back to when we liked the same thing. That was such a happy time
I must say, I'm shocked and appalled, APPALLED that some of you don't like Triumph. Seriously - some of the best laughs I've ever had from TV. I am not sure I ever laughed harder than the Bon Jovi Triumph bit at TV. I hadn't seen the one DJ just linked, and I just got busted cracking up in my office for maybe the first time at this job.
I don't think it matters much that Triumph is a dog.
