Move over Tebowing, there's a new sports meme in town. And it's called Bradying in (dis)honor of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
Moments after throwing an interception intended for star tight end Rob Gronkowski in New England's Super Bowl loss to the New York Giants, Brady was photographed sulking on the field with his legs stretched out and head down. Just one snapshot and bam, a new Internet craze was born.
Now, many are sending photos of themselves Bradying to the website Bradying.com, just like Tebowing.com. But that was so 2011.
That's another reason why I feel bad for Tommy. Not only did he lose the game (come on, a SAFETY? Too many players on the field?) but his wife is now hated by all Patriots fans, and he's being mocked all over the place.
You're wrong about people hating his wife. No one around here gives a crap. She didn't say anything the rest of us weren't already saying. It's the NY tabloid media that's making a big deal out of it.
The Bradying thing is just salt on a wound by sore winners.
It's fine. The pats had a great, overachieving season and lost in the SB. Not a bad year. I'm over it.
I can't see your pic PJ.
I wanted the Pats to win. Not because the Giants are a Jersey team (they are...shut up) but any team that my cousin hates is the team I root for to win.
What has amazed me is that 99% of the coverage - even on NPR! - about what Giselle said has zero context.
What happened is that a bunch of jerky NY Giants fans were shouting at her "Eli is your husbands Daddy! Your husband sucks!" and the like, and in her empathy for what is a terrible moment in the life of the person she loves most she lashed out with that stupid line.
So, should she have? No, of course not. I wish she'd said, "Thank you, you lovely New York fans for the opportunity for my husband to compete. I look forward to watching our next athletic contest against each other. Congratulations on your win."
Or she could have just remained silent.
That she didn't? I don't fault her an iota. I've been in Yankee Stadium wearing Red Sox gear, and I know.
Stay Classy NY fans!

Squid, there are douchebag fans for every team. It's not just a NY team thing. I think ALL sports fans need to class up. It's like the trolls here on this board. What kind of satisfaction do you get for trash talking to another person? Or shoving frying pans up Mr. Deng's ass? These are grown men taunting a player's wife. Douchnozzles all around.
I think Sox fans in Fenway are worse than Yankee fans in Yankee Stadium.
I think Eagles fans are among the worst fans in America, and approach some of the legendary stories about Soccer and Rugby fans in England.
Worst of all right now? Probably Egyptian soccer fans.
Phillies fans stand out for me. I went to a game at Fenway last year (or the year before) when the Phillies were in town. Boy, was that awesome. Those dudes really know how to heckle. Saw a lot of ratty, old Dykstra/Kruk/Schmidt jerseys.
My best friend is a die hard Duke fan and I saw he posted something about it on FB. I just can't get into basketball, but I will check for a video clip. Buzzer games are great to see.
ETA: Just saw it. Man, he made that look so easy! And he is a freshman. Would be good to be him today
