I don't know how many of you are aware of internet prankster David Thorne, but he's been having a bit of a running battle with Penguin Books over trademark infringement. See here for the amusing correspondence:-

I love this guy. I'd make his babies if my eggs weren't so dusty.

I LOVE David Thorne's writing. LOVE! I tell my friends IRL and none of them seem to get him like I do.

I have his website bookmarked and check for updates almost daily. Sometimes you have to be quick - he will post but then take it down within a couple of days.

I've been following this on Facebook.

He's gonna lose that one.

I enjoy his stuff too - but on this one he's outmatched, and I can't imagine it's worth it.

He changed the cover pic (at least in the link) to cats in space.

As much as I love Penguin Books, that was funny. I love that guy. I'm glad he complied though, cuz I'd hate to see him sued.

Sometimes I wonder how David Thorne has so much time to devote to annoying people through the written word. But then do my thing here, so I can't be hypocritical.

I'm pretty sure he now gets to do it professionally.

That Penguin thing was funny, even though you knew he'd have to back down, he milked it right up until when he had to stop.

Funny - but on this one I wondered why he didn't ask the guy if the light could be angled a bit first?

I know, less funny - but I'm kinda thinking that if David Thorne moved in next to me, it'd be hard to imagine I wouldn't piss him off in some way. I'd surely see some posting about my annoying dog and children or some such, you know? People do annoying things - even the ones you like.

Seriously?

I find myself annoyed by pretty much anyone I spend more than a few hours with, with the exception of about 6 people, and even they bug me sometimes too.

Some people go long stretches without annoying me, only to outright perturb me for a significant period. It then takes me years to forget the perturbation.

This is why I make it a priority to dislike everyone. I am then free to be annoyed with any and all of their idiosyncrasies.

LOL

As we are moving in a few weeks to larger premises with less neighbours, the last night we are here I intend to shoot the fat redheaded dog with a paint-ball gun, moon the old couple, and steal everything in Justin's front yard that isn't bolted down because that is pretty much standard operating procedure in Australia.

I agree with Squid to a certain extent...though I think I may be a shade more tolerant...unless large amounts of noise late at night is involved.

My favorite part is that the last letter sends him to Austria instead of Australia.
