Actually this is a great place to ask a question the Mermaid and I have.
The Circus is here. OK to take the kids, or supporting the worst things in the world? I'm not sure what I think.
So, maybe the circus.
I have to get a fence built. The pool isn't 100% fenced in since last fall. It's had a cover on that you could walk across so not a big deal, but I have to get the fence built before we can open it. So - about 62 feet of 2.5 inch spaced cedar picket fence 4' high going up.
And my Dad's coming over for dinner Sunday. Grilling I think.
House full of who Appy? Family or friends? Children with chocolatey hands?
Please let me know what you think on the circus thing. I may still post pics of kids there Monday - but I would like the board's opinion.
Sometimes the circus is just the circus. I have wonderful memories of going to the circus as a child. I'd take them.
We are going to go to Phase II on redoing the kitchen floor. I need to completely change my routine so I am going to figure that out this weekend (starting campaign QUIT SMOKING this weekend... woot?).

I have tried the patch, Ginny, and I liked it way too much. Even better than smoking actually (LOL! not kidding!). I know me. If there is any squeaky way to cheat, I cheat. I just have to suck it up and say NO MORE.
I decided that one thing I will do is that every time I am craving a smoke I am going to run around the block. That way, I transfer the idea of cigarette=reward to cigarette=punishment. I REALLY hate running.
We went to the circus a couple months ago and it was great fun. I guess I never thought about the whole captive animal thing. There weren't a lot of animals at the one we saw, though. Just your standard tigers and elephants. Most of the show was magic tricks, amazing acrobatics, quick changers, and a really cool family that did spectacular flips and stunts. My brothers loved it.
Annyboo, I didn't know you smoke. I will keep all my fingers and toes crossed for you. Good luck!
My weekend is going to be pretty boring, but that's okay because the last few have been super busy.
Tonight I will be tending to my poor Nathan. He had a tooth pulled today and needs lots of back scratches and soup.
Tomorrow I'm going to visit a friend in the hospital, catching up on laundry, and tending to my garden.
Sunday I'm going out to my dad's to see my little brothers.
It's all so very exciting. Lol.
edited because I like the word awesome too much.

I'm going to Cirque du Soleil next weekend! Of course I'm taking 180 sleep deprived 12, 13, and 14-year-olds with me, but still, should be a great time.
I don't know about the regular circus. Last time I went was about 10 years ago with my niece. There was a circus guy outside handing out flyers about how their animals are humanely treated and part of the family. Don't know about you, but I never made my grandma wear a party hat and ride her bike through a flaming hoop.
Dont get me wrong, it was fun, and my niece very much enjoyed the pretty costumes (and the $15 glow-in-the-dark thing I bought for her which broke two days later), but I'm not sure it was THAT much fun.
we took Linds to the circus when she was 4. Hated it. It was 9 million degrees that day and we were front row in a tent, squished--serious squashing to fill the seats.
The tigers did their thing but refused a few tricks because of the heat, which in turn made the trainer crack the whip even more. There were clowns (which began Lindsay's fear) and aerialists and a few more animals and elephants but we loathed it. The heat, the squishiness, the whip cracking, the thoughts of animals being forced to do repetitive tasks in not-great conditions made me vow to never go again.
This weekend so far included a dental cleaning for me, a filling replacement for Linds, shoe shopping for Linds, makeup haul for me and laundry.
Tomorrow, homemade baklava again. Almond this time
