My brother and his girlfriend invited me over on Saturday. They provided a lovely dinner of enchiladas made with roasted green chiles they transported back from New Mexico, numerous sides and Mexican chocolate cake. However, they only provided dinner forks. No salad forks and no dessert forks. How harshly should I judge them? Also, should I refuse future invitations or bring my own cutlery next time? Please advise.
What is the simplest, most successful way to prepare soft boiled eggs with a runny yolk? I think I may make that for the kids tomorrow morning. They love "dripping eggs." We originally called them dipping eggs, but... kids are messy.
Funk, egg cozies are most definitely a brunch thing. They keep the eggs warm, something that is only an issue if you are serving them at a leisurely pace and are sidetracked by mimosas.
I'm with Funk on this one.
I knew there was a thing called a tea cozy, and for years I've been meaning to google that but so far haven't gotten around to it, and now I find out that on top of that there are egg cozies in the world and even though I now know (thanks to people here) what egg cozies look like, I have absolutely no clue what they do. Besides be cute.
ETA: Thanks PG. That helps me too. Mostly.

I should also mention that they offered plain paper napkins instead of festive cloth napkins properly starched and folded into origami, as I would have. Perhaps I could give them a proper set under the guise of a thank you gift? I don't have time to look for myself, so let me know when you find something appropriate. Also, no chili pepper motifs ~shudder~.
~sigh~ I mentioned "numerous sides". How do you know one of them didn't require a shrimp fork? You weren't there.
Now where are my napkin recommendations? Also, Arwen needs egg cups to go with her egg cozies. I suggest this:
Wait until AC sees this harsh needling at my expense. It is making me angry, afraid and ruining my fun. He'll have some stern words for you. Get ready for a good talking to.
Oh oh oh!!! I made the soft boiled eggs this morning! I brought a small pot of water to a boil, added my six eggs (straight from the fridge, not room temperature), covered the pot and removed it from the heat for eight minutes. They were PERFECT!!!!
I've heard of egg cozies before, but didn't really think about what they were. Now that I've seen them, I want! They almost makes me want to learn to knit.
BTW, PG, sorry I didn't answer your question.
I'd say, forgive and not judge. Mexican chocolate cake makes everything seem forgivable, in my humble chocolate drizzled opinion.
