First of all, that's probably some random dork's facebook profile pic.

No language professors even know him, let alone "Hate" him.

The video, if I was stupid enough to click on it, would not be "shocking"

and there are no "sneaky" linguistic "secrets".

Are there really enough people in our society stupid enough to click on this crap that it makes it worthwhile for the scammers?

The thing that bothers me even more is that I see them plastered all over news sites.

WTF?

Then again, I watched an episode of some repo game show on Spike TV the other night where all you have to do is basically breathe in order to save your car from reposession. They ask 5 really basic questiones and if you answer 3 of them correctly, you keep your car. The host asked this person what theory states that the universe started as a single point and exploded into existance. The contestant went with "Planet Theory".

I think it's time for two internets. One for this crap, and one that doesn't allow advertising.

We don't need to get rid of the ads altogether, we just need smart ads for the smart internet.

....

I tried to think of something that smart people would "NEED" to have advertised to them, and couldn't, cause smart people know how to research.

Most ads don't bother me. It's those ones that expand and take up the screen until you find the tiny x to get them out of the way.

Those are annoying too but I think the only site I visit that has those is MSNBC.

I'm kind of thinking maybe it's my own fault for not using Firefox but, seriously, why don't the major internet browsers support blocking that crap?

I shouldn't need to become a linux using hacker to thwart this stuff.

On that note, I just installed Ubuntu 12.05 on one of my machines and, so far, I really like it.

I have much more hatred for the flash adds for movies that float over half the page and move so you have a hard time clicking them off. It's like they know you don't want to see the adds but purposefully make it difficult to get away from them.

What a bunch of dicks. Makes me glad I pirate their products.
