My high school reunion is this weekend and so many people are complaining on FB that it is on Father's Day weekend. Is Father's Day REALLY that big of deal that it needs a whole weekend?
I don't get it.

I found myself actually looking forward to father's day. I was browsing through the kindle library and saw a huge number of free classic books from Ray Bradbury, Mark Twain, HP Lovecraft and the like, so I'm getting a kindle. Weeee!
The planning for the reunion is totally lame. A meet and greet at a bar on Friday night with a band playing whose members include two guys from my class and one of the teacher's at the time we were there who, incidentally, slept with and got a girl in my class PREGNANT while she was a senior and underage.
Uhhhh?
Saturday - baseball game. The Lincoln Salt Dogs. Uhh pass.
OR
meet and swim at Eden pool - which is a public pool we all used to hang out at that is crappy and old.
And it is/will be pouring raining all weekend, so there's that.
The only thing I wanted to go to was a kegger planned for Saturday night. Outside of town, bonfire, barn party thing with arranged buses so no one drives drunk. But that got rained out obviously.

Ronan Farrow (son of Woodey Allen and Mia Farrow) tweeted:
"Happy father's day - or as they call it in my family, happy brother-in-law's day," alluding to his father's marriage to Farrow's adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn.
Frustrating day at the restaurant yesterday. Food took 45 minutes+ to get out. Lots of pissed off fathers. Aww welll, off to Tahoe tomorrow to forget it all.
