Congratulations!

Advice? Enjoy it. And suggest the same to your girl. If anything goes wrong that day its too late to fix it so don't.

The first time things happen really quick. But don't worry, you'll get better.

Have a great wedding!! Congrats!!

I read this awhile ago and it made sense to me, it was written in an older brother's moment of reflection before his little sister's wedding...

I always want to put "weeding" instead of wedding. I wonder what that's about. haha

Excited for you Todd! I'm such a sucker for love.

My father gave me this advice for my wedding: Don't lock your knees when standing up there on the alter. Supposedly people who lock their knees can faint. And that would be a pretty embarrassing thing to do at your wedding. Something about locking your knees restricts the blood flow. I didn't lock my knees and I didn't faint, so I guess it was good advice.

Now that I say it, is sounds kinda hokey. You'd think if this were true you'd hear about people fainting at weddings a lot more. Could somebody check Snopes or mythbusters on this?

Wow, cool. Congrats Todd!
And Tahiti! Nice. I've always wanted to go there, but what is it, like a 5-day plane ride?

Oh and as for advice, make sure you have tissues or a hanky or something in your pocket in case you have a sneezing attack and need to blow your nose during the ceremony. It's awkward if you have to ask one of the spectators for a tissue. Happened to one of my friends.

You will be among family and close friends, so relax and enjoy happy.gif

Do NOT forget to dance with the mother of your bride.

Seriously. At all costs, dance with the woman.

I did, and there were.

But even ignoring those - I felt like shit. I should have done it. The woman had done a lot of nice things for us, and what a small acknowledgment. I made her feel unappreciated, which was never my intention and I would spare anyone that.

That she never really accepted apologies for it... well that was her stuff - but in the craze of the event, it's the kind of thing one could easily forget.

There will be stress. Something will go wrong. But none of it matters, everything will be just fine, just have a good time.

Have fun! Tahiti? How wonderful! Take pics! Have fun!

It's true Funk. They told us so on Basic Training. I guess they wanted to limit the number of people fainting face first.

Agree with everyone eho said just have a nice time. If you end up married at the end of the day, mission accomplished. Everything else is just stuff.

there is family lore about a cousin who fainted at my parents wedding. his dad is was a military medic and said the same thing about the knee locking.

I attended a wedding where the maid of honor went down in a faint. Nearly fell off a highish altar - one of the other bridesmaids barely caught her.

It was HOT in that Church!

Remember if you always put her happiness first and she does the same for you, you'll always live a happy life.

also, do little things with love.
