I guess you are...

talking about the ratings/promotion given to this model. The QB-36-2/TF 99 (.177 cal.) is sometimes over rated at over 1000 fps. So I guess you could say that it is the 1100 fps model.

When I say over rated I mean that the promotion given to this model at 1100 fps is due to combustion in the chamber that gives extra fps to the pellet, or using super light Raptor (Gamo) pellets. Once it settles down loses oil combustion in the chamber or when you use regular lead pellets, this model gives about 900 fps.

900 fps is very gun for a air gun at that price.

Beware though, do not create oil combustion in the chamber on purpose in a mag. air gun with a syn. seal, this does a world of hurt to the piston's seal and the main spring.

I have seen/repaired a lot of mag. class springers with broken main springs and piston seals.

Oil combustion in the chamber is ok for springers that have leather piston seals, since the leather piston seal tends to release small amounts of combustion in the chamber, little by little, this is known as good combustion. But mag. class air guns with syn. piston seals tend to combust all of the oil in chamber in a few shots, which cause a world of hurt to the piston seal and can even break the main spring in two pieces. For this reason I recommended you a non combustion lube mixture.

But if you want extra fps, buy some super light Gamo Raptor pellets. They are not too accurate at long range according to most shooters, but very impressive at close range (under 100 ft.).
