but all springers have their angle of cocking, that is unless the main spring has been left cocked over time, this causes the main spring to reduce in size, to compress smaller, that changes the cocking angle.

Perhapes, this happened and a new main spring is needed.

If this is the case, check with Jim McCarie to see if he has a main spring that will fit your springer.
