I was away from home, no equipment and a friend of mine had that problem with a old B-3-1, the povit pin kept on coming out due to the worn rim on the cone side of pin.
I used a big old Philps screw driver with a hammer to widen/flatten the rim of the pin. I used a pair of pliers underneath the pin as a base to be able to hammer down the rim of the pin with the Philps screw driver (to open/widen the cone side of the pin). Work pretty good, over a year later he told me the pin still holds in place.
But it would be better to do it the right way with the right punch and base.
