Mr. West is going to have to eat his words.
by SpokeForecheck
Baldwin is playing pretty good hockey. It was nice to see him skate the puck through the neutral zone comfortably instead of icing it. His skating has improved and his positioning is much better. Keep it up.
what did they do to you when they caught you with your pants around your ankles hunkered over in some bushes with a pair of tweezers and a magnifying glass watching the whole thing?
They got the job done, and grabbed 4 points. This just goes to show IMO, when the Chiefs want to, they can beat anyone in this league, anytime. Keep it up guys! Well done.
I only watched the webtv these last two games but noticed hes stood more then a few guys up around the blueline with the stiffarm. He looks like he doesnt even want them to come in his zone at all. Like he has a pitbull line, soon as they hit it he ATTACKS....lol
Man it was great having Spurg back last night.....I'd forgotten how good he is, he made the whole team better.
I'll ask the same question posted by Sam earlier.............what's up with Leedahl??????? Play him.....he's one of the better looking rookie D men I've seen in some time & he brings a physical aspect we've been missing for a while.
Forgot how GREAT he is and how easy he makes all those great passes! You'd think he would've atleast needed a game to get back in his groove... but a solid period of hockey and he was back and bigger than before!! Spurg definitely made Cowen a better player last night. Maybe a couple more games and Cowen might be back on track too! Looking forward to having Letts on the ice tonight! Go Chiefs GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Sure hope he plays the same as he did in 08.......

Its what helps win championships...of course the way we're heading in the sport this might be the first year some cranky....errrr I mean euro style team does it.
Yesterday I decided to have some fun, and hit a few games. The stars must have been in perfect allignment, as our Chiefs, Braves, and Eagles all had games at home.
I started out at Eastern, and had a great time catching up with a lot of familiar faces, and my old billet, Steven Phillips, and other ex-Braves players. Only thing that bummed me out was I missed the Subway sandwhich that they toss out to the crowd... From there, I headed over to the arena, and shot the Chiefs...most memorable moment of the game for me was shooting, feeling a knee in my back, and it was Spurgeon, who was sitting on a rail, intently watching play. Very reassuring have him back, felt good. From there, I headed up to Eagles, to catch the Braves play Nelson. Have to say I was the proudest billet in the arena when my billet, Jake Peterson gave a Nelson player a hit that would make Chuck Norris run and hide. See everyone tonight!
Someone PLEASE explain to me Capt. Kirk's ruling on Kamloops first goal
by Chiefs22
He counts the goal, then calls goaltender interference against the guy who scored the goal? His ruling is that the puck crossed the line before he made the call? But the penalty call stands, the goal counts, and Kamloops has to go on the penalty kill?
Kamloops scorer's skates were outside the crease and his stick was extended enough for the puck to hit the stick and go into the net.....I believe that contact was made AFTER the goal and thus a penalty AFTER the goal was scored.....this is just my opinion...Im sure others will carve me up THANKSGIVING STYLE.......
Personally shoulda had one or the other, the penalty was a bit unnecessary, but hey we'll take it! Knowing Kirk I'm surprised he didn't give them a goal and a powerplay
Best effort I've seen from this team so far this year, including opening night against Tri. If we play like we did tonight, every night, we can beat anybody in the league and make this US Division race a whole lot more interesting.
Bring that effort and passion back to the rink every night boys.
wow it was great to see spurg and cowen together, and it must of ignited osmething in Cowen because he looked like a different person tonight. Our passing looked so crisp and nice and we were moving the puck pretty fast. This is the chief team i want to see every night. I hope we can play well tomorrow but it seems like we have a problem with Kelowna every time we play them....
Also nice to see 4 consistent lines playing together.
by CHIEFS-COP
Take away a couple of penalty situations and rookie subbing on the 4th line, it appeared the lines stayed together all night........with positive results.
Couldn't make it to the game tonight? 6-1 victory looks nice on paper but it was kamloops... Maybe we have turned the corner with spurg back? lol one can hope.. How was the cowen fight? why did marantz get a misconduct
Looked much better tonight... they actually played some defense. Still werent finishing their checks but it was certainly better. The Cowen fight was good.. the Marantz thing was lame. Quite funny that helmets and gloves come off and they dont get a misconduct but Marantz gets game misconduct for having a mouth. Kamloops got away with several ridiculous cheap shots but at least they let them play. SOOOOOOO nice to have Spurg back. Still dont get the Leedahl thing. I totally think he should be on the ice.
there are 3 d members that better show up tonight.....in no particular order....our 20 year old...LEARN TO CLEAR THE PUCK ..... has to be one of our weakest 20yo in quiet awhile.....Napolean Dynamite....if you cant defend you need to go home and get a head start on baking CHristmas Cookies......enof said...and finaly Captian Cupcake...you havent checked anyone since opening night....time to use your body bud...FOR ALL THE TALENT ON THIS TEAM ......ALOT OF PLAYERS ARE JUST ALONG FOR THE RIDE.....
University of Alberta's Chad Klassen named the HUSKY WHL Graduate of the Month
November 13, 2009 []
The Canada West Universities Athletic Association and the Western Hockey League are pleased to announce that forward CHAD KLASSEN of the University of Alberta Golden Bears has been named the Canada West Hockey - Husky WHL Graduate of the Month for October 2009.
KLASSEN, a 24-year-old right-winger from Warman, Saskatchewan, is the initial winner of the monthly award for the 2009-10 season, the 21st year of HUSKY-WHL monthly awards. The award is presented monthly to a graduate of the Western Hockey League who is playing on one of the seven Canada West Universities Athletic Association teams. Each monthly winner, between October and March, receives a cheque for $500.00 from the WHL to go towards the cost of his education and a gift from Husky.
In October, the Physical Education & Recreation student picked up 16 points in eight conference games as Alberta went 6-1-1, grabbing first-place in Canada West and a Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) No. 2 ranking overall. The only two games the Golden Bears lost were the two in which KLASSEN did not record a point. Through October, he also led the Canada West scoring race for the Dave Sweeney Schriner Trophy. KLASSEN is now a two-time winner of the award, having also been voted the winner in January 2009.
Formerly a member of the Western Hockey Leagues Spokane Chiefs (2001-02 to 2005-06) and Saskatoon Blades (2005-06), KLASSEN opened the year on fire, registering five points, including two power-play goals, one of which was the game-winner, during a 9-2 win over Regina at Clare Drake Arena in Edmonton. He recorded five multi-point games overall and the Bears were 6-0-0 when he registered at least a point.
Through October, KLASSEN has accumulated 78 points in 72 career Canada West regular season contests.
KLASSENs award marks the 33rd time a member of the University of Alberta Golden Bears has won the Husky-WHL Grad of the Month, the last by current Springfield Falcons AHL goaltender Aaron Sorochan, who won the award in March, the final month of the 2008-09 campaign.
KLASSEN joined the WHLs Spokane Chiefs for part of the 2001-02 season, played three more full seasons with the Chiefs, and stayed midway through the 2005-06 until he was traded to the Saskatoon Blades in January 2006, where he played 28 games, including 10 in the post-season. Overall, KLASSEN played 310 WHL regular season games, registering 109 goals and 175 assists for 284 points, plus another 25 playoff games with 9-8-17.
More recently, KLASSEN was a 2008-09 Canada West All-Star, Second Team CIS All-Canadian, participated as a member of Canadas silver medal-winning FISU team at the February 2009 Universiade Games in Harbin, China and was a member of Albertas 2008 CIS University Cup championship team.

Big 4 point weekend and we need 2 solid efforts. Can't afford to underestimate the Blazers tonight even though they got thrashed by the T-Birds last night, and Kelowna will be tough as well. Time to start another streak I think. You can do it. Lets go Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wouldn't change anything except I would use Baldwin/Leedahl. Love that checking line but I'm not holding my breath we'll get old time Chiefs hockey back with this coach.
Just here and there by the looks of things. No consistant lines = no consistant play. result has been an average team that doesnt appear too happy and looks like they're trying to catchup to hardy and his new days plan quite a bit......o.k ALOT imo
Wonder if hardy can get them rested up boys of ours fired up for the mighty blazers tomorrow after they took another good beating in seattle tonight.........
Don't know why he would switch things up after we did so well!! I guess he didn't want to follow in Peters shadow and he wanted to make a name for himself. If that's the case Hardy... mission accomplished!! Only I don't think it's the name he was looking for! PLEASE can we get back to Chiefs Hockey?????????????
I like the checking line. The lines i posted a couple weeks back are similar to that. Only thing is i would swap bardaro and marantz. Bardaro with a bit more offensive skill and marantz looks a step slow when playing with wahl and beach imo. I want Holmberg to be a mainstay in the lineup really i think if we give him more chances he will shine and is going to be an absolute stud in the future but i don't know who i would swap out... If we have to move a current forward on the roster i would say Kuhn is the one it should be. I know a lot of people like him and i agree he is a hard worker but i'm not a huge fan of his offensive play especially when he has the puck coming into the zone, never really looks to the net always takes it down on the boards even on some odd man rushes.
I say swap in leedahl to bartmans spot release or trade bartman and pick up a 20 year old that is gonna help us a bit more offensively
I hope you dont mean a Dman that will help us out more offensively
by brawler
We already have too many dmen trying to play forwards and pinching too deep alot and look where its helped get us.They end up sometimes sleeping in our own zone afterwords eh?
Maybe its all just part of hardys master defensive scheme and we will reep the fruits of it down the road...heh heh
Makes sense doesn't it? Win the cup then change the way the team plays at the start of the next season(and the one after). A huuuuuge reason they won the cup was their stingy defense...sooo lets get away from that and see what happens eh?...I don't friggin get it.
I actually think Marantz seems to have a bit more of a scoring touch than Bardaro. He seems to have a nose for the net anyway. Hard to say at this point in their careers but I like them both. I would also like to see Holmberg stay in the line-up. I believe with some ice time that kids gonna be awesome. I'm not sure why everyone is so down on Barts. I think he's been one of our most solid D-men so far this season. Sure he has off nights but who hasn't on this team? I wonder if some people just remember how he used to play or if I'm missing something.
IMO...the Baldwin/Bartman d-pairing won't have enough foot speed if they get caught out against an opponents better skaters. While the Ulmer/Kichton pairing would be a very good skating line they may struggle against an opponents larger forwards on the cycle.
I'd go Ulmer/Bartman and Kichton/Baldwin.
on the forwards...that Bardaro/Brassart/Holmberg line has been showing me some good stuff on occasions. They have put together some shifts that have kept the opposition on it's heels. It seems that the chemistry these guys are developing with each other is starting to click. This line also bodes well for years to come IMO. I think keeping two of this threesome together (at least on occasion depending on the opponent) makes some sense.
if it doesn't make any sense expect hardy to do it! Leedahl maybe be our best D at the moment... that is until we get Spurg back. Hopefully he'll come out with a bang! Maybe that's who Cowen needs to get him back on his game!
Cowen is huge and I agree, he's one of the big hitters we have left. since he's not doing much else on the ice he should step that up a bit. I want the old Cowen back! Can someone tell Baldwin he's not a 100lb girl and to play bigger. gosh, trading Donaghy is hurting us. We need to do something because I can't watch another game like everett. no idea what
is making hits but that's about all... He's good in front of the net on the PP but a mess when pressured to pass. He has NOT been his old self this year at all, and if we are going to be completely honest... loosing Donny hasn't changed the team any either. Donny had not been playing up to par either. But then again maybe that's the game they're all playing right now! Few players have stepped their game up and most have had a mediocre start at best!
Peters would've never put up with this! I don't think the players respect Hardy. Although I don't know that to be fact... jmo. Someone's gotta take the bull by the horns if we want to get through this season and into any kind of playoffs. It's kinda like a marriage between player and coach... they should be equals and then maybe they'd get somewhere. Mutual respect is needed or we'll probably stay stagnant the whole season. What a shame that would be with all the talent we have. Hey... when we are on there is no stopping us. The problem is we are switched off most of the time. We need to figure out what flips our switch and keep it that way!
I think that's the problem. The players think they know more than the coaches, so they don't listen and follow the systems. Wednesday they should have been skating lines for hours. Then go home eat take a nap. Go back Eagles and skate lines for hours. Somebody has a problem with this, they get benched until they don't have a problem with it. It only takes 1 or 2 prima donnas to ruin a locker room.
Sick thing is. All he has to do to start the ball rolling is set some lines. The players all sound very sick of it on the radio. I mean when asked about it they answer pc, but you can hear it in their voice.
Lines weren't set until after Christmas last year.
The only explanation that makes sense is if Sauter wants to get everyone comfotable playing on different lines so they can cover for injured players without much adjustment.
If this is the explanation then it's back fired IMO....how many games have we lost because he distibutes the talent in such a stupid way....& how many games have we lost because he's alienated & pissed off half the lockerroom?
The players do have to answer to the coach because he is in charge but he is also responsible for putting the best possible game plan & players on the ice & so far this season I think Sauter gets a D on his report card.
You give your players respect... they're gonna listen to you. You treat em like Sh1T... they'll do what they want. It's just like anything else in life! There are several guys that should be stepping up to the plate to be leading the young guys in the right direction. It's all about picking the right management style. Hopefully we can find one that works. Talking down and treating someone with disrespect is not going to get them to do their best. That's like kicking your dog and then asking hime to fetch the paper for you afterward... you'll be lucky if he doesn't bite!
They should be treated with respect. But only if it's earned. That's part of the problem these days. Some players think being punished and criticized is disrespect. They are too entitled. This should not be a democracy. If you have a player(s) like Bruton you use him (them) to help the players see the hierarchy and feel included. Herb Brooks never disrespected his players. Peters and Babcock didn't either. But nobody messed with them. If a player thought he was bigger than the team he figured it out or was gone. If they are actually being disrespected and don't just think they are because they have attitude. (Like most 16-20 yr olds)Then that is a problem. I don't think that is the case though. Just my opinion.
Whos fault is it if the players think they know more or dont listen?
by brawler
Cause if that was the truth...then isnt it up to a coach to not let that happen? Whos been benched that needed it? Whos lost who so far here? Whos steering this ship?
Of course some players are sick of it...almost everyone I talk to is......The guy has to know hes losing faith from spokane here week by week and in the end will be held responsible if he doesnt get it turned around quick.
I'm sure hes a great guy and his intentions are good but I really do wonder thinks like...."I'f crosby or gretzky were playing major junior right now for us would either one of them be on a D pairing with mort every other shift for every third game?"
was the one bright spot tues night cowen is a beast on the spokeforecheck, putting wahl up top was huge by hardy now add spurg hopefully the pp can get hot, the pk has been great we need that because of all the dumba$$ minors we take
i really hoping the return of spurgeon ignites something in us lol. maybe if him and cowen are paired together again we will see the old cowen who wants to play for the chiefs and isn't just thinking about solely the next step
you have to remember cowen missed a lot of hockey, very tough injury to come back from ,12 to 18 months sometimes. It might have been better to let him fly under the radar on his way back to full strength ,the C adds a lot more pressure, believe me he has a lot of pride and wants to perform like he knows he can
to me its the lack of caring and effort. i know hes still returning to full strength. I know the C adds that pressure but he took that responsibility and in my opinion i haven't seen much of a captain out of him...
Waaaaaay better at the start of the season when he himself said he wasn't playing at 100%, Im not buying that either.... Some thing is going on with him but being hurt isn't part of it imo.........
Your brain is a long ways away from your knee tho, 99% of the mistakes Ive watched him make lately look like there mental not physical.... He was playing alot better in september then he has in awhile now, Has the knee gotten worse & started affecting his thought process?
Hopefully spurgeon's return changes some things around here
it hasn't been even 12 months since that injury.............cowen admitted upon returning to spokane he was only 75-80%.....he's got those mental & physical issues & then they hang the C on him....and he gets to deal with those "us against the coach" issues...............
I wonder how many of those penaltys can be attributed to
by brawler
Your best defensemans playing forward and your best forwards playing defense? Even if its not many I just dont understand taking your best players out of their positions when they can do it better than anyone else. Its never made sense to me and I've never been a fan of it.
i would say losing donny has changed the team. yes he wasn't playing up to par but i think with the loss of his presence is very noticeable, especially for that period where we got manhandled by everett
I think if he was playing that role, Hardy would've kept him. I think the 20 yo thing kept him from playing like himself. Let's face it with that looming over any player who could be on their game?? Spurg and Letts were probably the lucky ones not being on the ice and not having to prove themselves!
I dont know how much of playing his role had to do with it. I don't think he was playing up to par but the fighting rules hurt his game some as well. A 20yr had to go and leth inquired about Donaghy. I dont know how much of a say hardy has over speltz but i honestly don't think the 20yr situation was looming over Donaghy's head imo.
In all likelyhood we wouldn't get rid of spurgeon, no one would want bartman (as i see it), and then theres letts. Maybe they didn't want him because of his bad rap or whatevs. idk. What i don't get is why we didn't wait until they returned so we could judge there play in a game.
After 2 broken hands and with the fight rules maybe he is just trying to work out a comfort zone that won't get him broke and off the ice or suspended and off the ice. The game (oh, did I say game? Silly me!) the CATASTROPHE against the Tips certainly doesn't fall all on Baldwin. I was beginning to expect tights and spins and maybe a toe pick or two! Sheesh. Seriosuly disappointing. But Saturday is another night. Hopefully a lot of kinks have been worked out this week.
Speltz will know what type of team he has after this weekend........
by
Will they bounce back after an embarassing display Wednesday?
& he'll know alot more about his D with Spurg coming back & their physical play with Letts in the lineup.
I see more changes coming.
There is no reason not to put together a decent checking line with the PK being one of the few bright spots right now & it only getting better with Spurgeon returning.
i just don't feel his presence. he plays alot smaller than he is. whats that scene. was it in mystery alaska when the big foreign guy has to be showed hes big haha. baldwin needs that. no i dont think it falls on baldwin at all and thats not what i meant. im hoping sat we come out strong
Sometimes they are just in sinc and nailing everything in sight ... all of them. And then we have a Wednesday. It seems like it has been really up and down so far.
While I am glad to have Spurg and Letts back I don't think we should put too much on them. Neither one of them has skated in a game ... period ... all season. It is going to take awhile to get back in the swing of things.
Hard to belive we are only about 5 weeks away from Christmas break. This is definitely the time for the guys to get it together consistently.
Reddington wasn't around long enough for us to even see how his season was going (good for him now) and Donny looked like he was minding his P's and Q's with the 20 yo situation hanging over his head! Which is a bummer because he wasn't playing his normal hockey, and that may have gotten him traded! It would be just our luck ... all of our guys we have traded have been doing great! Baldwin and Cowen need to get the tu-tus off and get back to Chiefs Hockey!
this is exactly how i see it. I think the new fighting rules hurt donaghy alot lol and he wasn't playing his normal hockey. But would leth have wanted letts or bartman? idk. Im happy that they are doing well though. hahaa yes, why are our 2 ogres in tu tus??? i hope we see a big change sat
I don't know much about the type of injury that Cowen had other than that it is serious. But it looks like he is sometimes a little cautious (for lack of a better word). Every once in awhile he has a flash of brilliance but I am just not convinced he is playing even close to 100% on that leg yet and I think it has some affect on his game. JMHO. Any thoughts? Maybe my imagination is working OT.
Baldy is probably working/directed on improving his skills
by brawler
As imo, he seems to be improving with each game. Thus trying to stay out of the box as well. Hes young still so as his confidence builds, and his skills improve you'll see some big hits I'm sure.Fightingwise, I dont think it'd be too smart to bust that hand again until it fully heals this time.
uses that 6'1" 190 lb body well
quicker than when here.....still has those soft hands, skates very well, always has his feet moving.....would complement either of spokane's top two lines very nicely
13 points in 14 games since arriving from saskatoon
you would NOT have been a happy camper last nite......you may have lost a sizable footrace to the door when the visiting side went up 4-1
hartsburg's crew anticipated everything the home side tried, mostly shutdown that down low rotation
tajdjeh got hung out to dry, at least reider didn't get his buttom reamed afterward.....check that coach prolly blamed him anyway......know what i mean???
the only d-men that shouldn't have paid to get in the bldg were spurgy & leehdahl
Got a chuckle out of the last sentence except I gotta ask cause I wasnt there live. Did you guys get the feeling it was for a lack of effort on the D's part? Coaching? Combination?
If blueliner isnt happy with the D it must have been even worse than I seen on the web...LOL
everett came to play.....forced physical & mental mistakes with their forecheck & backcheck, took the body and just kept the spoke kids on their heels for most of the night.....
i'm sure there are folks who are blaming tajdjeh....it's always the goaltender's fault you know
I don't think it's so much a matter of not putting out the effort I think they're all confused and give up. The C and most of the other D are so busy trying to figure out how to get the puck and score they don't concentrate on playing defense or worse don't know how, we obviously don't believe in hitting and only two or three players even know what forechecking is. I can't figure out what we're supposed to be playing and I don't think the boys can either.
Just in case anyone might be interested in attending the New Years Eve game in Tri the Booster Club is planning on taking a bus down or if you just want tickets for the game we can help you there too. There will be a sign up table available hopefully beginning this Saturday (heavy on the hopefully). Table is normally located at the top of the stairs kind of kitty corner from the souvenir shop. Right now we have reserved a block of 75 tickets but that can be adjusted if we can get a good count before they are sold out. We will have pricing information available when you sign up.
Can't wait for that game! I love our coliseum when it's sold out. The more the merrier. Just don't put any of the extremely drunk ones in section G lol.
While I am ranting.... WTH was up with section 105 tonight? Who exactly was it that was egging on the drunken Silvertip fans? Was the tips fans actually chanting "go to college"?? I am banking that SOMEONE from this group was sitting in 105 tonight.
I was a section over.....and they came in guns a blazin......especially the short haired red head....they started getting "CAT CALLS" from a couple of guys above in 105 especially and a couple in 106.....Section leader came and got Big Red and one of his cronnies.....probably were told not bang on the glass......THey started chanting SPOKANE SUCKS...that was enough for me....I yelled at them "Had they done better in High School...they wouldnt be going to college in SPOKANE."...my quess is they are GOnzaga students from Everett area.....IT IS NIGHTS LIKE THIS when I expected our beloved boys in Red step up and take care of business...but alas.....there were alot of guys that should of been sent home to BAKE SOME COOKIES with their billets.....Kinda funny how they can come out a lay a egg for 2 periods then come out AFIRE for the third....Makes me wonder what was the pregame setup by the caoches last night.......
Just because IM THE KID that they sang songs about on the school bus...doesnt give you the O KEE DOKE KEE to call me names......But then again...I am THAT guy arnt I? Oh well.....
In fact I havent even been in Washington state since yesterday afternoon. Elk hunting trip...heh heh
I did watch part of the 2nd and part of the third on web tv. I say part of the 2nd because thats as soon as we could get here so I missed the first halve and part of the 3rd because it ended up being the first game in webtv history for me that I turned off before it was over. Its also the first crappy arse game I cant get refunded cause the feed was fine.
Seemed to me, on webtv anyway that poor Hardy probably woke up with a couple shiners cause Hartsburg just flat put the boots to him and made him look very foolish and predictable IMO.
How does a team that was preparing for this game and knew how important it was.. although early, come out and just not hit anything? Even the guys you expect to be hitting every night like koper and gal didn't do it for even a full period of the game. The only person who i feel played a good game was mitch wahl... More line juggling of course but that goes without saying at this point..
None of this was tadjeh's fault so i'm not saying that... but why does hardy decide to start our backup in an important divisional game? Especially with our starter being chl goalie of the week... Just let him cool off on the bench i guess... Brett Bartman proved his worth tonight, if i had to choose who to have out there in an important situation 16 y/o mort or 20 y/o bartman i would say it's a tie so that says it right there.. And we have a d-man better than both of them that has been scratched lately... is leedahl hurt or what?
What in the hell is hardy telling these kids in between periods
bob strumm fired goring, goring sued for balance of $$ in contract.
strumm denied goring was fired.......until he was shown his quote in the newspaper which oddly enuf surfaced in the civil suit.......
(ok this is reactionary as well).. Could SOMEONE please explain to me why exactly after Reid kicks it into gear and starts to play well.. we give him the night off???????? And WHAT is up with Leedahl not playing? Are we like saving him up to trade HIM to Lethbridge too? Tonight was not about line shuffling. Tonight was about pure and utter lack of intensity and inability to pass the puck. The way Cowan is playing, he needs to go to the practice squad. There was a play tonight where he stood to the side of the net and purely watched as the puck was passed and shot on goal and he did not even move. I think the pee wees would have been more exciting to watch then the Chiefs tonight. Ok I am done now. Rant over. I will still be there to support my Chiefs 100% next game.
good to know you are blowing off steam,,leedahl should be in the lineup, is not because they play mort or balbwin, leedahl by far the better, as for cowen he is playing his position during these penalty kills , he should not leave his zone to cover someone elses job...everything has a plan...what hardys is we'll never know
I dont expect him to leave his position. I very much like him in deep around the goalie... but for crying out loud at least pay attention and do some defending.
this may be another game that when looked back upon,,
by hockeynut
Chiefs may have thought they should have won. I also was surprised that Reid did not start. Hot goalie, big game, enough said. Its clear also that in the comments in the Wednesday S/R the Tips thought the Chiefs underestimated them and figured they would be tired coming off a long road trip. Probably. Oh well, lesson learned. Lets move on, but it stings a bit.....lets rebound boys. You CAN do it!
On a worse team thus far to boot....Good to see them contributing so quickly
by brawler
Congrats to oslanski on his first dub goal.
Here is a post from a Calgary fan that played lethbridge that night commenting about donny....
Donaghy was used on the PP too
by Greg & Barb
Lethbridge had Donaghy be the guy to stand right infront of the Hitmen net on the power play - it worked out pretty damn good except for the one time where he absolutely backed into Jones and took a goaltender interference penalty.
Posted on Nov 11, 2009, 8:04 AM
And a new lethbridge fans take....
he looked alright..................

every kid that roles into town needs 3 or 4 game to get into the their groove...the one thing i really noticed was he hits as hard as sbisa and has this CALMING effect on the other team, no cheap shot no dirty play...you can tell 99% of the other team players are scared sh@tless of him.....he's like a shark in a guppy tank...........
lol....thats good stuff. I wish them all well and will keep tabs on them as I do most former chiefs.
I just wanted to let you know that Mike Boyle's latest Spokane Chiefs blog is up on KREM.com.
You can find uncut interviews with Mitch Wahl and Hardy Sauter included. There is also a report from practice yesterday (including an injury update on Jared Spurgeon and Ryan Letts).
The team and especially Cowen has to be happy havin Spurgyman coming back Saturday. And the Letts train comes back in action Sunday they say....wooooohooooo...bring the pain. LOL
Speedkills I didnt see that highstickcall but it sounds like you were dead on according to Boyle.
"Vancouver would score on a 5-on-3 power play goal, a gift really, as the high stick penalty called on Tyler Johnson forcing the two man advantage was awful at best"-Boyle
Why ya gotta keep posting this? I was trying to just post when they do well for a while.
If they are trying to win it all then they need a different goaltender. (This Year.) Baily was great, but they needed Kidd. Same thing here in my opinion.
But you are right. James does deserve all of our Kudos. Well done this week young man.
If they need a diffrent goaltender as you say...who? And what are you willing to give up for him? These guys just dont drop outta the sky ya know.....heh heh
I'm more happy in net then I am behind the bench....the talent we've had/have speaks volumes over what hardys been capable of thus far IMHO.
Win streak be damned...theres no way in hell those guys should have been playing like that against seattle for example. Hopefully they start dominating soon like I know they are capable of.
This sucks to say, but I don't think these guys can go all the way. Because (IMO) they need another scoring Forward, one more stay at home D, and the Goalie. They can't trade enough to get this without having to replace what was traded.
I like Reid. I just don't think he will be ready for a long run this year. I think that he is developing like a typical Goalie. Not ahead of schedule like Tokarski did. In a perfect world, I would like the rent a player in net with Reid as backup. Then Reid could take the Dub by storm next season. Who in net? That's tough too. Because most of those net minders are with teams that are trying to make a run. I would like Mucha. He's not going anywhere though.
Even if they could get the D-man and the goalie they might be good to go. I just think the Chiefs only have enough to make one more blockbuster. And even that might hurt too much.
Kelowna went all the way with Guggenberger (or however you spell it)so maybe they can get it done with Reid. I know it sounds like I'm slamming Reid. But that's not what I'm trying to do. I just don't think he's ready for "all the way" yet. If I had to compare him to a Chiefs net minder of the past, (as far as can he get us there?)it would be Aren Miller.
In trying to go back to just positive posts:
Nice work on all CHL REID!
Nice work on 4 in a row Chiefs!
And blow the doors off of Everett tonight so we sit all alone in third.
Keep climbing that ladder that is the WHL West standings.
is that power forward already here in the form of levko koper ? they continue to get him the puck near the circles while he's driving to the net & i think he could put up 40 goals.....
i still wonder how close spokane was to getting Broda last year....him versus Calla ????...would Broda have dis-appeared against vancouver last spring?? who knows BUT he would be here this year..
maybe the stay at home d-man is already here, with spurgy coming back i can see klemm changing some roles............
goaltending can always be a crap shoot....point well taken with bailey & miller. we need to remember tic didn't just waltz into the #1 job......that wasn't given to him until early into 2008 & thankfully he caught fire.
another scoring forward would go a long way to solidifying the offense.
However, I agree with cranky...the return of Spurg may just be the thing.
In goal...well...I think JR 'CAN' be the guy by the time the playoffs roll around, but he's gotta 'settle down' a bit over the next few months. I think he's got it in him...
i get sick of a handful of new posters each year that seemingly think they've got all the answers..........yes reid struggled......did anyone notice cowen struggling during that same time ?? nobody jumped his crap did anyone notice ulmer trying to do too much to pick him up and struggling also???? nobody jumped his crap..............
it pist me off that some people on here wanted him gone after 3 or 4 bad outings, that's why i posted that
You are bang on that when Reid struggled the whole team did. But, he took the crap and in 2 of those 4 games it wasn't his fault when they are looked at closer.
Tik had a bad stretch last year when they were making their Saskatchewan loop. But of course no one jumped on him.
Jesus, Reid was pretty much flawless last year in 20 games! AND half of those games were at Christmas when all of the key guys were at the world junior championships.
Reid is not Tokarski. Nobody is. That kid quite possibly could have been a droid.
And I know you didn't respond to me, but I did jump most of the teams $h!t a few threads back. The only thing I would change about that rant is that this team can't do without Beach. (The Good Guy Beach) He can just do things no other player in this league can. I also now know that he isn't the cancer in the locker room. That title belongs to another player. And no I don't care how much trolling is done to figure out what I think I know. I will never print that players name and cancer in the same sentence on this board. In fact I will probably not talk much more on the subject at all. Mostly because I can't believe it.
What in gods world makes you think he or anyone else doesnt know? Becuase YOU say they dont? I can understand questioning it but knowing it? Just because people arent in the lockeroom or dont talk about it on here doesnt mean some people dont know exactly whats going on in there or can find out at any time at the drop of a hat.
its very simple let me explain, the only way anyone would know anything or as you say "know exactly" the dynamics of the locker room is to be inside the room, period.Just because you have a few pops with some players now and again,or get second and third hand information from some billet parents, that doesnt qualify a fan to know "exactly" or $hit about the sacred room.
Me because I replied I guess.Let me ask you this. If someone hears the same thing from fans, players, billets, parents, ect alike, would that qualify as knowing somthing in your world? It certainly would in mine. I'm sure most would take their joint word over yours. Sorry. But alot of different people know more than you think they know. Do they know everything? No nobody does unless their in there. Are you in there?
That said it is the guys sacred place as you said and probably shouldnt even be discussed on here...most who know what you think they wouldnt about it dont say a word. Take it or leave it....but for you to say nobody knows sh!t is ignorant to say the least IMO
that one timer was for spoke 4 cheque but since you always have his back i guess you just got in the way .I do agree with you this topic should not be discussed by us experts here. PEACE
Brawler always having your back.....lol. You guys have been oil and water in the past. It's odd (thought a good thing) that some of the posters that used to argue on here are now agreeing with each other so often.
I couldnt even get along with myself back in the day...heh heh
2 elk in the truck 1 bull spike one yearling cow, 2 more to go, FOR THE BIG ONES!!!!!.
and we got 1 whitetail doe hangin mmmmmmm jerkey. I'll bring some tasters at the next game I make it to.
LOL..good catch big B...I was working on some 2009/2010 stuff, and the date ws stuck in my mind...I fixed the images, but this thing is stuck...oh well, ready for next year!
The guys are starting to believe in themselves and their streak proves this. Kyle should have no problems being motivated. I am sure the same can be said for the rest of the guys, as well. Keep it up, good luck and oh yeah, GO CHIEFSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
so much quieter than cheerstix....if youdda put the chiefs logo on so you wouldn't have to look in a mirror to see it correctly i couldda sold fity of 'em saturday
i'll keep a close watch on ms brawler while your in montana hunting sasquatch...i've got a key now
Once yesterday(rnd2) and once today(rnd3)....Looks like stoesz may have jumped gallant today considering gallants teamate turner also got a FM and a 3rd man in. We'll have to wait and see though.
Good tilt from godard and shelly...thx
I forgot all about that with jones.....good memory man.
If anything THAT is what they had to stop before helmet removals
by brawler
Lets see...lets make a rule that you can NOT take off your helmets before a fight to prevent head injuries but lets have our refs continue to stand over watching guys pummel other guys heads when their head is less than inches from the ice. Whatta ya say? Could you imagine if the guy connects square while the back of the other guys head is just waiting to bust open behind him? Its only a matter of time.
Gotta love the old school hockey but man, thats a complete disregaurd for human life IMO and I'm a friggen fight fan. LOL
players are feeling much more comfortable around each other and know what to expect and how the other guy operates. The timing is just perfect. Way to go boys. Keep it up! Go Chiefs Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Especially playing our closest division pt margin team, Everett...as Portland and Tri above us sit idle.
I'd like to see Hardy really get the boys up for Tuesdays game...set some real good lines and make a good statement out of them Tips but I guess we'll see.
we jump them in the standings.. i know it's not easy to win 4 obviously but we should be able to keep this win streak going. We get everett, kelowna, and kamloops at home all games we should win followed by a road trip where we get edmonton and red deer also both easily winnable for the chiefs.. After that its in calgary for the 3rd game in 3 days and that may be rough but who knows
gal & koper continue to lead the way work ethic wise
by cranky
uher played an exceptional game.......look for him to get better with more ice time.
holmberg had some good shifts...he's another kid that needs to dress every nite
gal and koper stepped up physically alot last night i thought. hopfully we can keep it together. Beach needs to stop being overdramatic, but what can i expect...its beach haha
Than he was the brandon game and before... Not flailing around and having his back to the play 50% of the time. The way he was playing before he did need to be benched. Love the way he is playing now...
and how about uher.. Best game he has had as a chief tonight. Disruptive on the forecheck and in his own zone. Got in the corners. Every other game he looked really timid out their but it looks like he is getting used to the dub
finally looks to be adjusting to the North American game. I noticed him more than a few times.
I'm REALLY liking Gal's game of late as well. If he keeps this up, very good things down the road.
That Holmberg/Bardaro line had some seriously good shifts as well. Strong forecheck and finished checks ended up creating opportunities and put the Van D-men on their heels for sure.
But, I will say they are only as good as the team in front of them helping them out or leaving them to dry as I've said before. Sometimes goalies can steal a game here or there....but in general it all boils down to team effort IMO. And we didnt win the stanley cup tonight in case a certain someone didnt know. For the record, The Giants team knew they loss when the horn sounded.
when so many geniuses on here were calling for his head on a platter. Really there should have been 15 guys getting called out but its just easy to blame the goalie. Maybe its a little too much to ask for people to look a little deeper into things.
One Einstein even said "can you say out of the league". Brilliant. Good god, he may have had one bad game in that whole bad patch.
The team was brutal, to go along with what Brawler was saying.
Naysayers are pretty quiet now.
Tik would have looked just as bad during that stretch!
Did you watch the game Friday? The TEAM was awful through the first two periods and JR kept them in it till they decided to start playing. The save he made just before Seattle scored thier goal was highlight reel stuff. That's the tending a team needs every now and then and they weren't getting it. At the time of the Taj trade I was thinking WTF???????? Now it's looking more and more brilliant with every game. Guess JR needed a bit of a wake up call.
Good to see Chiefs hockey is back. Solid responsible d zone coverage and hard work along the boards along with timely goaltneding. I love it!
6'-3" 246lbs defenseman on the Chiefs protected list has 4 goals & 5 assists + 32 pims in 11 games with the Eastman Selects Major Midget team.
One of the goals was in a shootout to win the game.
Nice...that friggin thing gave me a headache.......well....coulda been the beer at Brawlers house. But that thing did not help at all. Don't be giving the org ideas like that. Next thing ya know those will be everywhere and crankys gonna drive his hover-round right down a flight of stairs into the crowd.
ok 1st of all....how the hell did you find that on you tube brawler? i mean what could you have possibly be searching for to find a "yingle stick"?
2nd of all ruthven78, crankys section will NOT be sportin the yingle sticks! unless he moves to a new section! LOL.
And it sounds like tix are going fast. Should be pretty full tonight. I get what you're saying though , would make more sense against our biggest rivals.
i hope the lady that does interesting stuff to her man during the goal song is there tonite.....in fact cranky would be veeeewy, veeeewy happy if the spokekids do double chalupas............probably not quite as happy as the young gentleman however.....
Gal, best player on the ice tonight (kind of a broken record coming from me, but, I may need a new jersey). Finished every check, feet never stopped moving. Reid, solid, did everything you could have asked for in a tender. Koper/Kuhn/Miller, usual good efforts. Defense all together, wasn't all that impressed. Cratsenberg, best game I've seen him play. He actually played some hockey instead of just trying to find a fighting partner all night. Overall team effort wasn't good enough for 60 minutes. Chiefs took too many penalties early, which were a reflection of being out worked. But,apparently it was good enough to win tonight.
does anyone else feel like the only thing he ever does when coming into the zone no matter if its a 3 on 2 or sometimes even a 2 on 1 he just takes it into the corner and cycles it on the boards... constantly
I think if this Cheapseats poster is going to continue to come on here and slam posters and challenge you , maybe they should be exposed for who they really are. JMO
When deleting their posts replace their same post with how spineless and useless they are for them. LOL
Are the IP's even coming out of spokane? Would be such a shame if they are that close but dont have the gonads to meet up like the rest of us do. I bet they run under moms bed shaking after they post everytime.
I haven't been to the Red Lion (assuming you are taking about the bar near the Globe - if I recall correctly?) for about 5 years...last time I was there I experienced a very unpleasant waitress. Your table, is this in the crease before game, out in the concourse during intermissions, near what section, etc? I'll be in town Thanksgiving but may be going to the Idaho Vandals football game Saturday which is the only home game during that time period.
I do go to some Birds games, but I'm pretty neutral while there (except for tonight). I've enjoyed watching Pickard. They've also added a 16yr old this season in Alos who is from Spokane, so I've been watching him too.
Check out the hardy interview KREM2's tim lewis just posted down the page a ways.....hardy responds to t.c vs turtles first altercation is pretty funny imo. Also what hardy thinks about the new fighting rules.
Hell, I wouldnt even let a chiefs "tough guy" live that down if he turtled like that. It's that damn funny. If it had been a non fighter...yea it wouldnt last long.
He did make the smarter play. I imagine it had to be hard on him, you know it put a big dent in his ego and his reputation. All for the better of the team I guess.
Donny got traded "for his own good" cuz Shinniman had his number and when this year is over we might as well hang up the skates for a year. We aren't going to have a team worth putting on the ice anyway and apparently there is nothing after 6th place and we won't make it that far! Good grief! Personally, I don't think Shinniman was much of a blip on Donny's radar. As for next year ... maybe we could make it through this season before we panic? LOL
Every year we lose someone that we wonder how we are ever going to replace but somehow the hole gets filled and the game goes on! So ... hope the boys have another good game tonight. Beach was actually pretty funny talking about the game with Seattle. He doesn't think people in Seattle like him very much. I wonder if they still have the "Thank you Chris Bruton" sign? LOL
The shinniman thing was completly a joke made by Hoof-hearted. And the rest was a good hockey discussion between Ams and Chiefs fans. Lets not take it and spin it into tripe.
As Bish has so eloquently said ... I was on the AMs board and it is there to make THEIR fans happy - not anyone else's fans. That is why I came back to the CHIEFS board and commented on what I consider to be their wishful thinking that Donny was ever worried where Cinnamom was concerned or that the Chiefs are starting their downhill slide now and will hit total breakdown next season.
This has started out as a rather strange year - from the C to the trades to the players who are really stepping up game after game. We still complain about the reffing, the coaching and the choice made by some of the guys to leave their brains in the locker room once in awhile. But I don't think, at this point, our team has played even a 1/4 of their scheduled games and while there definitely should have been a couple more in the win column I don't think that any of it points to a team in trouble.
If there is a reason why any of you CHIEF fans believe that this team is a train wreck waiting for the next sharp corner then I might have to fight a little harder to stay positive and supportive of the team.
It didn't take you long to get back to your old ways Rebelchild. You and everyone else knows that was a joke. It was a good conversation between BOTH AMS and Chiefs fans. Seriously why try and start something? I really think the way you love your team is great. Please don't read negativity into every post the AMS make. We all love our boys and hate each others. that part was a joke.
"what I consider to be their wishful thinking that Donny was ever worried where Cinnamom was"
Are you the only Chiefs fan who didn't realize what Hoof-Hearted posted wasn't meant to be taken so seriously? I know it's the Chiefs board and post as you wish. If it were me though I'd quit putting wear and tear on my keyboard about the Shinnimin and Donaghy thing and I'd definitely not try stirring up the pot over a post that was intended as a joke........ to each their own though.
Hoof-hearted even said that was "tongue and cheek". If you've been reading their board long enough you'd know that was 100% a joke. I'm not attacking you by any means , just trying to point out that not every Ams post is a stab at Chiefs fans. The talk about the Chiefs being bottom dwellers next year was an opinion and I do believe another Ams fan said that they thought the Chiefs would be very solid next year. I just don't agree with taking bits and peices of posts from their board and coming over here and trying to start an uprising. Drives me nuts. At least just post a link to the whole topic and everyone can form their own opinion on the matter. Fair enough?
Chiefs dominate Chilliwack

On paper, the Spokane Chiefs¡¦ dominating 5-1 Western Hockey League win over Chilliwack Wednesday night was a veteran affair.
Red-hot Kyle Beach had two goals and top-line veterans Tyler Johnson, Levko Koper and Mitch Wahl connected while goalie James Reid turned aside 24 shots.
It¡¦s all about confidence and no one is more confident than Beach, who has eight goals in the last five games and 13 for the season.
¡§I¡¦m definitely getting some bounces,¡¨ Beach said. ¡§The first goal tonight was a bit of a softie, it snuck under his pads. At the same time, I¡¦m getting a chance to play (more games) with my linemates now. I¡¦ve got to give a lot of credit to Wally, Kops, whoever it¡¦s been, I just find a hole and they find me with the puck.¡¨
Although the younger role players didn¡¦t score, that doesn¡¦t mean they didn¡¦t contribute.
¡§When you start playing a lot of games in a short period of time, you need that fourth line to contribute, whether it be controlling the play, scoring goals or creating momentum,¡¨ Chiefs coach Hardy Sauter said. ¡§Whatever it is, you need both that third and fourth line to do something.
¡§Right now both our third and fourth lines are making good plays, good decision and contributing, just adding to the confidence of the group.¡¨
That¡¦s extending to the defense, especially Reid, who went three ƒè weeks between wins before posting a shutout in Portland Sunday.
¡§I¡¦m back in a zone now,¡¨ Reid said. ¡§Hopefully, we can start a streak now. ¡K I feel really good. I feel like the team is playing really good, the ¡¥D¡¦ is helping me out a lot. Everything¡¦s going the right way now.¡¨
The Chiefs (8-6-1, 17 points) had lost three straight home games. The first two were with Reid in goal, when he didn¡¦t appear to be comfortable, nor did the defense in front of him.
¡§I was a little off,¡¨ Reid said. ¡§I think it was my angles were just a little off and the bounces just weren¡¦t going my way. Sometimes that happens and a goalie gets in a little slump. I think I¡¦m out of it now. It feels really good.¡¨
Beach scored with 15 seconds left in the first period and 18 seconds into the second on the power play for a 2-1 lead.
Johnson banged home a loose puck with a minute left in the second period to make it 3-1.
In the third period, Koper converted a pass from Johnson after a turnover and Wahl made a nice move at the left circle to end his frustrations.
Koper and Johnson notched their ninth goals. While Johnson has four goals in the last four games, Koper got just his second in the last eight games. The drought for Wahl had reached 10 games.
¡§I have no problem shooting the puck,¡¨ Beach said. ¡§I wish my stats were better, goal-to-assist ratio. Now that Wally got out of his slump, he can get rolling as well and we can both start scoring.¡¨
After the game the Chiefs traded 20-year-old forward Dustin Donaghy to Lethbridge for a sixth-round pick in the 2010 Bantam Draft.
¡§We have four 20-year-olds and you can only have three,¡¨ Sauter said. ¡§We felt all our 20-year-olds have worth. In a nutshell, Lethbridge agreed and traded fair value. It gives us value back and it gives Dustin a place to go where he¡¦s wanted and he¡¦s going to get to play.¡¨
And maybe even a little "we'd like to thank him for his contributions ect ect ect" would have gone good with the article.
Probably the editors fault though.
it probably is. i think there was a quote from speltz from somewhere where he did thanks him. they say the same thing every time. it just sucks that it has to be dony though. anyone remember the time he threw another guys stick, i think i pissed haha
i have to be at the arena early, but "my other half" my be game to meet up for a beverage....esp if cranky is buyin!
if you guys are runnin late, i will save some cheer sticks for you! ha.
I think he meant that Lethbrdige really wanted Donny (not that we didn't want him) and that he would get quality ice time. Surely a coach couldn't be stupid enugh to say something like that meaning we didn't want him.
Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they traded him didn't they?????????
by Gnome Enthusiast
Just sayin. I agree though brawler, now that Donny's gone you can kiss this season goodbye. How could they trade a guy, 20 yrs. old mind you, with 0g 1a 1 fight and 5 (est.) hits that causes thoughts of mutany in the locker room. WORST TRADE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is how I felt when they traded Favaro. And I kinda feel the same way now minus the Hardy hate.
Hardy was on Patchin today and said they hadn't decided who was going to go. Then the Canes called and asked about Donaghy. I think the value comment meant Lethbridge wanted him and were willing to give up a draft pick for him. Which is better than having to release Ryan or Dustin for nothing.
Patchin also asked him if he was just going to start drawing names out of a hat for line changes. Courtesy laugh followed by a small moment of silence.
I kinda feel like after Favaro and Donaghy a player shouldn't be able to wear #16 unless you're all heart and soul, and hit like a cement truck.
Patchin asked him that? That's pretty funny right there. I wish he would just answer the question and throw out some kind of reasoning for it. I mean I guess there's probably a method to the madness..........right?
I know. I was pissed because they didn't protect him.
by SpokeForecheck
I can't remember who it was, but I think it was Podollan that they knew wasn't coming back and protected. Doesn't matter they couldn't protect Favaro because it would have been dumb. But I was still pissed.
So Beach has 13 goals in 13 games played this season. What do you guys think about a 50 goal season? I know it was posted before as a sub thread by someone but I really wanna know if you guys think he'll put up 5. I've only seen him 2 times this year so I can't say if he's actually dominating games or if he's just getting the bounces right now.
The kid has the skills to do it. If he keeps his head straight, focuses on hockey and being a team player, he'll get his chances. Barring injury, I think it really is up to Kyle himself. Success for the team will mean success for him.
We will see...
As far as 'getting bounces'? Players with his skill level tend 'look lucky' but this is usually a combination of hockey smarts and hard work. Most of his goals I've seen so far this year have been high skill level type of goals.
to say he'd been getting lucky. Just kind of wondering if he had been dominating games like he has the skill set to do or what. It's kind of scary that he's on a hot streak. I remember when he was in Everett he would kill us, don't want to see that trend again.
to answer that question...it's been 'hit and miss' IMO.
He's been having games where he is rollin', and a few where he kind of floats and only appears in the wrong column of the score sheet.
This is a hard one cuz everybody has bad days...but with KB it seems he's either scoring two or three (even when he scores just one he tends to be in on assists) or he's frustrated and doesn't make it onto the score sheet other than the PIM column.
He commented about how good the defense was in Reid's two wins. D can't have played that well if they let up 35 shots. I assume you know that are in just playin' me!lol
If a defense holds them to a butload of easy parimeter shots all night to get the puck and bang up ice with it how would you see it? Seen it a hudred times...."just keep putting it on net hoping nights". Very frustrating for the teams I'm sure.
Just want to say thank you to Spokane and all the fans that have supported me and made the last 2 and a bit years amazing for me , im really going to miss it here ... Thanks again much love Spokane onaghy 16
Gonna miss seeing you out there. THe last few seasons having you out on the ice was like a giant security blanket. I knew if any crap went down out there with any of our guys you were there to protect them and were always hitting anything in sight. Thank you for 110% effort every single night and i'm sure you will do the same in lethbridge and those fans will love ya as much as spokane does! Good luck, tell redder hello from spokane!
Also knowing that a lot of players read this board, none of you take anything you read on here to seriously, or personally for that matter. I really enjoy watching every single one of you on the ice and it is easy for anyone to play GM in their armchair behind the anonymity of the internet (myself included)
Go chiefs go
and to my favorite eastern conference team
Go canes! Good luck dustin
Thanks for all of your hard work and effort. I know that most of us appreciate that you are a true player in every sense of the word. Lethbridge is lucky to have you.
Dony you'll always be a chief! thanks for all the hard work, i mean how many people can rupture a kids spleen? whose going to muder people on the ice now!? For sure making the trip up to Leth. Goodluck and say hi to redder.
Donny, how can I say this....you're awesome. Wish it could have been someone else, but I know you'll be a great asset for Lethbridge. You're always going to be a chief and have supporters in Spoke!
I'll miss ya buddy. Thanks for everything....you'll always be a CHIEF to me and a good friend. You still got a key...just dont leave roses like cranky and chiefs cop. Kinda pisses me off.
I, for one, WILL be leaving roses in your absence...............
by CHIEFS-COP
It was not suppoesd to be this way. We never had a chance to say good-bye to a true friend of this team and his group of supporters. This is a very sad day, buddy.
We (as many as I can get together for the Mid-Jan swing) will see you in Lethbridge on our way through from Medicine Hat. Donny, you best be making some time when we pull into Lethbridge. It's gonna have to be a lunch-type gathering so we can see you and say "HEY".
If it doesn't work....................we will come find you, buddy!!!
Gonna miss you, man................do don't know really how much.
I really hate to see you go Dustin. The Mrs and the little one do as well. Good luck in lethbridge bud. We hope to get to see ya again soon. You'll alaways be one of our favorites. Thanx for being such a great friend to us in your time here. You'll be sorely missed.
