I used to enjoy predicting the demise of bootlgs but since everyone jumped on the bandwagon I'm not sure if it's still cool? When Kutis Rush said it was over for him and Osy' started to do some original material it was okay but now it's just like everyone's saying it to look clever. I suppose if it's still fun then people will will keep proclaiming it and eventually the press will stop saying it and we can all go back to saying it to our mates and posting it up for other like minded naysayers. You never know though some unknown or old timer might post up a classic argument for saying bootlegs are finished tommorrow and I'd get all enthused about the doom-mongering again.

i've never had an agenda for bootlegs. i did them 'cos they were fun, and will continue to do it until it's not. musically, (for those who don't know) mcsleazy has been going for longer then the mcsleazy bootlegs, and the original mcsleazy material has always been the more rewarding (for me).

as for people bailing out because of the 'coolness' argument, fuck 'em. if they want to stop for any other reason, fair enough, but if it's because some people have decided they're not 'cool' anymore, then let 'em go - nobody needs shallow whining fuckwits in any area of their lives.....

You're probably right. Increasingly, I find I no longer feel compelled to say how uncool bootlegs will become. I find I'm returning to slagging off other types of music.
