...and here's my take on "Wonderwall":

"Wonderbottle" (Oasis "Wonderwall" vs. Christina Aguilera "Genie in a Bottle")

Surprised that no one else has done this yet. The two songs fit so damn well.

some of the cuts

just thought some of the cuts in the backing were a little forced.

not to say that I'm not guilty of that at times, as I know I have been.

Just didn't want to mindlessly say "that f*kn rocks* ...

dsico is always slaggin' off your boots! - this would be reasonably ok if this guy produced pristine flawless efforts himself! - some of his fuckin' tunes don't work at all!

for christ sake stop all the back biting !

well said sid,

it does seem to me that this 'scene' has a few others who are maybe getting too big for their bootz!!!!! and it not the way forward.

Peace

Let me first thank several of you for your nice comments about my boots. I do them for fun, mainly as a diversion from the other musical cutups I work on; this summer I'm putting together a dozen or so songs based on "mic in track" files ("Bunnyrabbits" is an example), which incidentally were discovered by the Evolution Control Committee, who did "Rebel Without a Pause". More info about mic in tracks (also called Napster Nuggets) at the ECC's webpage: http://evolution-control.com/culturejamming

I certainly don't mind criticism, so long as it's constructive. I think we all want to improve and make better and more effective tracks. The more specific the comment, the better.. eg. "That drum break at 2:30 just doesn't flow right" or "It needs more variation, maybe mix in some X Y and Z." I'm pretty much a neophyte at audio editing, and I'm not nor have I ever been a DJ, so I would appreciate pointers from some of you more seasoned types. I'd appreciate the input, even if I feel I have to ignore some of it. :)

So in the spirit of sharing, here's a link to one of my favorite mic in track finds. It's rather long (~10 minutes) but it's jam-packed with sampling possibilities: http://sensoryresearch.com/~starkeff/youre14.mp3

don't worry too much - the freelance hellraiser stroke of genieus has one of the worst edits ever in it. 1 minute 20 odd in.
there are several other guilty parties out there, so it's more a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

me? i don't give a monkey's either way anyone thinks of anything of mine. as long as they have an opinion.

Question

Is there any other accapella of the Genie In A Bottle? I've noticed on a couple of boots, that the vocals have this weird effect on them which make sit hard to blend with the music. If anyone could get rid of that stuff, these boots would be so much better. I didn't recognise it on The Strokes mix so it's possible it's out there somewhere.

I like this, but of the 3 Wonderwall booties I've heard (the other two: F/Hellraser's Lil Mo one and go Home's Marvin gaye one) it's prob my least fave.

but i LOVE your xtc/c&c booty and especially your destiny's/LFO pure geEEEenius!
