my links in there too ? I didn't make a logo ...

uhm,I would have like more structure in the board,YaBB-style,so we could all have a proper profile and stuff.
But the majority voted "no" on this issue.

That's about it.It's quite nice here.Interesting people,that's what's important !

i'd be willing to give all bootleggers a profile page and host it on the mcsleazybootlegs site. your signature could include a link to it, where your details, biog, links to your own page could sit.

how does this sound?

I don't like the idea of moving anything onto seperate areas, coz it means having to jump about between them to answer and reply.. this board is nice as it is.

Of course, if the number of visitors continues to increase, it may well be worth reconsidering if too many msgs are posted in one day. (

my vote in the last poll was 'no' because i wouldn't like extra threads for links and for discussion - i also find it more interesting if these stay together. structure on the content level could organise the liveliness away.

maybe one thing: this board takes a bit too much scrolling for my taste - maybe if the fonts were smaller...? but that would be a problem for our 70-year-olds. hm.

and ma cornflake: what does 'YaBB' mean?

ps.: in the last few days i sometimes had a server error message when i tried to reach this side. anybody else?

i too had troubles using the board for a couple of days...

mcsleazy, how about hosting a board of your own, one like yabb above, or some other. as long as your server (you have one right) can support php, asp, cgi any of those then you can have a decent one. they're pretty easy once you get used to them and allow for better control over what can be posted, and everything really as its on your server.

"maybe one thing: this board takes a bit too much scrolling for my taste - maybe if the fonts were smaller...? but that would be a problem for our 70-year-olds. hm."

reduce the text size in your browser then. in IE it's View > Text Size > (select a size)

"ps.: in the last few days i sometimes had a server error message when i tried to reach this side. anybody else?"

yep me too..

As an old BB Junkie, I would appreciate a YaBB or an UBB.
It's much more comfortable, but you will need a CGI Space to host it.
I myself run a YaBB, a friend installed it for me (http://www.pixel7000.net).

But on the other hand this board is okay, it's easy to understand for beginners.

i've upgraded my server to one with cgi support, and hopefully will have things running next week.

the other decent alternative to Yabb is ikonboard - it would do the job too

i like the board the way it is - but a section discussing (especially for newbies like me) how to actually produce a bootleg would be great - or if anyone had time or inclination to post a post with a walkthrough of how to get it done

only down side for you

only down side for you Mcsleazy would be a rather large jump in the bandwith your own server takes which could incurr you costs...

another solution could be something like proboards

eg our rather empty
http://eotmc.proboards12.com/index.cgi

which for a small fee can be set up to be ad free.

can have members and non members sections etc..
