The only thing else we might add is that our son failed the CAPD test because he did excellently on some skills even though on other auditory skills he showed extremely poor understanding. The problem was when the Audiologist added ALL scores together his several scores at twice his age level wiped out those scores at half his age level and he came out "normal".
She herself said this way of tabulating scores was garbage but to "prove" disability in some cases is sometimes impossible. This is because these kids learn how to cope with their disability as our son had. In fact she gave us one of cases where he had displayed this very skill during the test and predicted that in three years, if we had him tested again, he would test ADD not CAPD because his coping skills where already hiding his disability. Then we told her we home schooled and she smiled saying that this was the best choice because these kids.
She was right on and we have never tested him again. The local school treats him as disabled when he goes in for the state tests (and his done some "strange" things in class to help reinforce our claims) yet academically he is doing great. Also the L-rd blessed us just recently when he was suppose to do one of those dreaded test where they read to the kids and the kids answer questions (he still struggles with these tests). A snowstorm hit and rescheduling became impossible so they just drop that test. Now we got until 8th grade until he faces that again and maybe by then he do OK.
