My son is only two, but I plan on homeschooling him. He is speech delayed but at this point no diagnosis has been made re: Apraxia or CAPD. We are praying that it is only a delay and that with continued speech therapy, sign language, play therapy, etc. we can get him caught up. He is showing good progress in receptive language, expressive language is a bit slower to respond. My question is did you folks use a formal preschool curriculum or do you just do it the way our folks did -- teaching numbers, letters, colors, etc informally through coloring books, games and play. What resources would you recommend?

Also does anyone use sign with your preschoolers? Any recommendations for resources? I am trying to not only learn this new "language" but am trying to teach my son so that he can communicate more effectively with us.

I'd appreciate input from your experiences. Thanks
