To Whom It May Concern,

I am a doctoral student at the Boston University School of Education in the department of Special Education, doing research for my dissertation. My research entails looking at the social interactions of parents and their children in homeschools. The population of children that I am studying is children who have ADHD-inattentive type in addition to having social anxiety disorder or social phobia. All children in the study must be homeschooled, between 7-12 years old, and diagnosed to have ADHD-inattentive type paired with social anxiety disorder (children with only ADHD-inattentive type will be considered also, however), and diagnosed by a physician, a psychologist or a school, or according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-TR-IV-R). Additionally, neither the parent nor child can have another special needs diagnosis nor any psychiatric illness or disorder. My research involves videotaping the teaching throught the day as well as the parent and the child being interviewed. All results of the research will be made available to the parents. Each child and parent who participates in the study will receive a remuneration. Please contact me either by phone or e-mail if your family is interested in my research.

Sincerely,

Esta M. Rapoport
