it gets tedious after awhile, all it does is 6 types of digit spanning. But it is much easier than doing the spanning yourself. My "normal" dc increase their span quickly when they are using it frequently, my 2 fae/fas children are all over the place, some days good, some poor. It is often hard for them to focus long enough to complete the 10 minutes. If you use audioblox, I think it would be redundant, we have dropped it now because we are using audioblox. I can try to answer a specific question if you have one?

If you're trying to build straight rote memory & don't like doing a lot of spanning yourself, but your child will cooperate & do it 10 or 20 minutes a day, well, yes...
if your child needs other skills as well, I'd pay the extra money for the whole Audioblox, though that is a lot more work on your part, it teaches a lot more too...
you could spend all your car trips building rote memory by digit spanning as you drive, or playing that game, My name is Anna, I went on a picnic & I took Apples... on & on... that sort of thing...
hope you can get opinions from a couple other moms with kids more like yours...
I do not regret buying it but I have 5 dc so things prorate pretty easily around here. My dh also figures $50 is less than one doctors visit, so it doesn't have to do much to be worth the money...

digit spanning is a way to increase memory. Here is a link that talks about it, strenghts & weaknesses. The article is written specific to Down Syndrome but would apply in most situations... digit spanning is a routine part of a neurological workup.
