HI,
This board is great for finding information. There is another way to get support as well. There are several list servers for different diagnosis. I am on several for homeschooling AS families. I know there are some for homeschool kids with ADHD, mental illness, and others. If you are interested, let me know.
Peace, Nedra

The best place to find suport lists is Yahoo Groups. AS Learing At Home is a mix of all kinds of homeschoolers. Homeschooling Aspies is a Christian list. I know there are many others. If anyone has trouble finding one, please email me at nedra3boysi@aol.com

I am interested in support groups for sensory integration/ nonverbal disorder/ADHD. All three together or at least one on non- verbal disorder and auditory processing problems.
Thank-you,
Carol

Just like I responded below, all the things you listed would fit under autistic spectrum. This sounds exactly like my kids. You might want to consider if the diagnosis (dx) that you have are just parts of a big picture. I will look for lists and get back to you.

This is a list for homeschooling Asperger kids but the traits you are listing are very common to AS

Hope this is helpful.

are you sure of the diagnosis (dx)?

HI,
Are you sure of the diagnosis (dx)? Non verbal language is often associated with autistic spectrum disorder and so is central auditory processing disorder. Those two things together would fit under something of autism spectrum disorder. Don't let the autism part scare you. I will look for ones for those areas but just wanted to give you something to think about. My kids all had a list of dxes before we got the Asperger's dx. Nick was originally ADHD, central auditory processing disorder. I have meet many other kids with a whole list of different dxes. Girls tend to get the non verbal language dx more than boys do. Some people say it is the same as Asperger's (AS) and some say it isn't. The experts are divided on it.
