HI,
Also look at Asperger's info cause the two share many things in common and what might work for an AS kid, would work for NVLD. Some pros say they are the same and some note a difference. There are several list servers on Yahoo Groups for AS homeschooling families. There might be ones for NVLD as well.

I have an 8 year old daughter that we believe may have nld.
She has had a very tough year in school an we are not happy with the suggestions that our school is offering for her. With private schools being so expensive we may need to look at homeschooling. We have a big support group of homeschooling friends from our church but none of them have a child with learning disabilities. Is there any homeschooling guide books for children with nld? Or are there any other resuorces? thank you for your time.

Wow! As far as I know NVLD is still not a recognized learning disability in the US. Shows what "they" know!
I have done a lot of research on the web but I can't find any real person who knows anything about it. My son fits the descriptions to a T. But I still think there is overlap with Aspergers Syndrome. He has been diagnosed as LD in a few areas mostly in comprehension.
We have just recently moved and aren't really put back together yet, so I don't have access to my files. I will tell you some of the areas I looked in and found extremely helpful links and info. NVLD is considered by some to be a part of the autism spectrum and I believe it. I taught my son to smile and to interpret facial expressions and a whole lot of things other children just pick up naturally. It's a good thing he was my first because I thought I was supposed to teach him these things. Thank the Lord for my ignorance otherwise I would have been discouraged at a time when I couldn't have taken any more.
Anyway; look up autism, autism spectrum, asperger's syndrome, ladders.org, aba-materials.com, aspergersyndrome.net, kandi.org/aspergers, nldline.com (an excellent resource), also anything that Sue Thompson has written- that was a huge help and assurance that I was on the right track with the things I was doing with my son.
Hope this helps.
