You always talking about going to events, now your peeps have to either travel alone or stay home because now your azz ain't going. You already know if you can make it or not. Got folks running around planning shyt and you don't say a word until folks are ready to pay. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, THEN IT'S YOU! KNOCK IT OFF!
This board has too...tooooooooo many lurkers. Introverts are so not sexy.
KNOCK IT OFF!
You want advice, then take it. I ain't sugarcoating shyt. So take your confused, sensitive azz to a therapist and KNOCK IT OFF!
Stop bragging about bottle service. Take ten people and divide the prices...what did you REALLY SPEND? I thought so. KNOCK IT OFF!
Everyone in your crew has a role, be it the event planner, the comedian, the photographer. (Did you see the new Harrah's commercial?)If you do not know your role, then you are the weakest link, most insignificant member in your crew. KNOCK IT OFF, and stop mooching.

FOX News catches Jesse's azz while he wasn't on the air, talking about how Obama talks down to black people in regards to his faith-based initiative. Then he says to the guy next to him ( I think it was former ATL mayor Andrew Young ), that he wants to "cut Obama's nuts off" . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . This comment is strike 3 for me, in regards to Jesse. It's one thing to not agree with everything Obama says. Ish, I don't agree with everything Obama spits out. But to flat out disrespect the brotha like that, and give him ANOTHER HEADACHE to deal with in his run for the Presidency, is straight bulls--t. . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . This may be our one and ONLY chance to get a black person in office, and these ego-manicial azz black leaders may fucc it up for him, simply because he doesn't kiss their azz all the time. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . and white people think that all black people stick together. LOL . . we all know that's a damn lie. This ish has got me heated forreal.

Something on the low (or so he thought lol)and used words that you don't take literally. I mean he's not really trying to take a weed-wacker to Barack.
When the kids online say "go kill yourself", do you think they really want to do that?
Please don't let the media cause you to lose focus. Jessie has done great things for the community, he just effed up here, just like we all have. Nothing more, nothing less.
FOX News is not on our side in case you haven't noticed.

THE BORIS KODJOE WHITE AFFAIR PARTY WAS THE HIGHLIGHT JAM FOR ME. THE MUSIC BY RYAN CAMERON OF V-103 IN ATLANTA WAS OFF DA CHAIN AND GOT THE CROWD GOING IN A MAJOR WAY. AS WELL THE AMAZING PART OF IT WAS THAT 95% OF THE WOMEN WERE DYMES AND VERY APPROACHABLE. THE ATTITUDES OF THE LADIES WAS GREAT ONCE YOU APPROACH THEM RESPECTFULLY.
THE PARTY AT DREAMS ON FRIDAY NIGHT WITH RUSS PARR AND BIG TIGGER WAS A JOKE. IT WAS PURE CHICKENHEADS AND HOODRATS WITH ONLY 10% OR LESS DYMES. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THAT, HOWEVER IF YOU LIKE THOSE TYPE OF GIRLS THEN IT WAS YOUR NIGHT OF FUN.
OVERALL THE ESSENCE WEEKEND WAS TERRIFIC, WITH DYMES WALKING UP AND DOWN ON CANAL STREET IN GROUPS OF 5, 4, AND 3'S. IT WAS A THING OF BEAUTY AND THE LADIES OF COURSE WERE ACCOMODATING AND FRIENDLY. JACKSON SQUARE WAS DA BOMB AS WELL WITH BOMBSELL SWEETHEARTS WALKING UP AND DOWN.
CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR

JOHN DOUGH you on a freak’s route to speak about a shut out bid
You cold and silly you couldn’t shut a bowl of chilli if I gave you a lid kid
You have a habit with stats too stupid to pull a rabit out of a hat
I’m true jeannie but you’ll never be Whodini your belly too fat
JOHN DOUGH you couldn’t be mighty if superman loaned you
his cape just a grown fake that’ll never fly as a clever guy so boo
at your verse you got a fat thirst for fame don’t even have a first name
you couldn’t come hard standing in a batch of cement I’ll burst your vein
with lyrical injections this is a miracle resurrection killing your whack style
JOHN DOUGH I’m of one mind with a ton of rhymes while
You dumb and ascinine now come drink wine it time to smile
You couldn’t be ill with the Bubonic plague you make a pile
Of mistakes in battles, never be heroic and you know it, look
I got muscles yo like RUSSELL CROWE I’m a gladiator hooked
While you just a mad hater shooked like earthquaken ground
You’re a mistaken clown taking a renown ****ing ten pound
Ass whooping, JOHN DOUGH you face outrageous friction
While I’m in an advantageous position to apply courageos restrictions
On your whack verses and put them in black hearses your very
Style is dead and buried, even if I bury in the PET CEMETARY
Still couldn’t comeback because you dumb and whack even if Dairy
Queen fed you ice cream you wouldn’t have flavor in your rhymes
you may as well grab my style and lick, lick, lick it many times
like a lolli pop because I get ill fame like Lil Wayne got plenty lines
that shoot bricks and recruit chicks while you suck and puke on dicks
look I’m hurting this clown he starting to make certain sounds and squeaks
on the streets as the freak that had us all fooled for awhile and now he speaks
“SQAW I’m dim and whack and the impact of your rhymes has effected
My brain and I can’t correct my lame style what should I do to be protected?”
“ Retire from rap and get rid of that dumb cap in the hood you’re rejected”
JOHN DOUGH your flow don’t compare guy so go blow dry your hair
I can ride horse or bear and fly through moist air like a feeble eagle and stare
At you as an illegal beagle that can’t bark after dark all your rhymes parked
In a handicap space a disgrace to rap oh **** here comes the Hip Hop cops
To ticket your wicked nickel dime vehicle of crime, couldn’t rip shop with a cocked
Glock son, not Hip Hip or a beep bop, fat and chubby at best dang you need
To see Dougie Fresh so six minutes and then you’re on, sit down and read

I have never experienced that. However, if it did happen, I would talk with my lady. After our talk, I would make a decision with respect to staying or leaving. Honestly, I would have a difficult time staying, but that’s a decision that I would have to a make!

I increase in quote while you just a piece of rope I’ll tie
This guy this guy down don’t try clown, smoke get high
Off crack rhymes already soft and whack like toilet tissue
You fake and sincere keep you in a state of fear the issue
I’m winning and grinning at your skills dang where’s the beef?
Like empty hot dog buns rhymes taste dry, make this battle brief
Misled and blind got you in the headlines like a press release
Rip your crew into particles so the news articles reads “Missing
In Action One Jack Frost that act soft in INFAMOUS always kissing
The microphone so go home son, my rhymes coming into place
While you rumbling through space like a falling star you’re a disgrace
To the sky, you’re a commercial talker while I’m like Herchel Walker
Gain yards by running over lame retards like you got skills you’re a stalker
My verbal friction sparks humidity you just a condition marked with stupidity
Plot not witty get shot in the city trying to be bad, this kid on a nerd committee
You prevail without a female so the girls don’t find your world a good one
Should run from this battle of voices I saddle horses like the Lone Ranger son
Dome in danger I rap gun rhymes and hot lines with shot like glocks and nines
Dang computer mousse bent now your house for rent a call for attention
My wall is a dismension of the twilight zone and democratic convention
So look kid I shook your lid so is your name JACK FROST of JACK OFF?

This Essence Fest Weekend has to be the strangest I have seen when it comes to dealing with the rules of these clubs on Bourbon St. It seems to me like they have different rules for different people. I just wanted to ask is it just me or did anyone else experience the same thing.
I everything from different rules for dress codes to what you are allowed to do and bring in the club and it seemed to change every hour.

Sex For Gas
Police: Kentucky john paid prostitute with $100 fuel card
JULY 2--A Kentucky woman is facing prostitution charges for allegedly trading sex for gasoline. Angela Eversole, 34, was nabbed last weekend during a police stakeout at a Days Inn, where she allegedly trysted with customer Kenneth Nowak. According to court records, Nowak admitted paying for Eversole's services, in part, with a $100 Speedway gas card. Eversole was hit with a prostitution rap and also charged with doing business without an occupational license. Nowak was charged with promoting prostitution. Eversole and Nowak are pictured below in mug shots snapped following their June 27 arrests. A local prosecutor noted that it was sad to see someone selling their body for gas, in this case about 25 gallons worth.
Dang...guess she had to do what she had to do....dont listen to Joyner that much but that is funny..tippin strippers wit gas cards..sigh-o-tha-times i guess
Besides money or another person, what's the one thing that you ALWAYS have to have with you everyday?
Something that makes your day all wrong if you forget it/don't have it...makes you feel nekkit. Something that if you ran into someone from the forums, you'd have it with you if they asked? Something that your folk can say, "You'll never catch her/him without _____!"
Your camera? Headscarf? Fitted cap? Polo shirt? Latest handbag? Jewelry? The Latest Js/shoes? Hair did? etc...
What's your one thing/trademark? Dont Be Shy!
I will start if off...I have to say my watch! It keeps me on time:)

LOL Besides anything of the electronic nature (ie phone)
by Legz (no login)
Nothing. And if was childless and wasn't promoting travel, I wouldn't need a cellphone.
Actually I've left me cell home a few times...used the heck out of my office line and sent email all day long...more than usually.
I am a simple person, contrary to "popular" belief. Just ask for nice things once in a while, but I hardly have anything under the ***I Can't Breathe Without You *** category.
The thing I need, can't carry it with me (home, food, love)so to answer the question...I don't have one!
Posted on Jun 27, 2008, 11:04 AM from IP address 151.196.108.99
First off, the site looks very clean and easy to navigate through. Good job. I'm typing this on my PDA, so this will be jumbled altogether, so bear with me. But if you want someone to nit-pick on what can make the site a little better, I can try to do that. . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (1) I think you may be better off showcasing an event that is coming up in the next month or two, rather than an event that is so far off . . . unless that promoter has paid you to have his or her event on page 1. If so, make that money. If not, you'd be better off promoting events that will happen maybe within the next two or three months. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . (2) In the upcoming events section, I think you may want to create hyperlinks on those events in your calendar that takes them to the "official website" of that event. If I'm looking to go to a certain event, I need to know as much info as possible. So going to that event's website/myspace page, is very helpful in obtaining information. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (3) You may not want to do it, but I believe you're going to have to "pay to play". When I say "pay to play", I mean in regards to any content that you're not providing ( i.e. - pics, or anything else ). Most people don't do things, even little things, for free. So maybe people will be more willing to provide you those pics, for a smal fee. I think this is how Big Zock and some of the others operate. They can't be everywhere at once, so they buy some of the content shown on their sites from someone else. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (4) I think the biggest obstacle for you though, is genrating traffic to your site. One smal thing you can do, is definitely talk to whoever knows you on the net, and ask them to put your logo/banner to your site, on their personal webpages, that will link to the travelhood site when they click on it. You never know who or what may see your site via someone else's page. And like everybody else ( if you haven't done this already ), have a myspace page of your site.

Nominated by everyday folks, the winners are celebrated in Vegas each year. And you already know if it’s Vegas, it’s a non-stop party! Hoodie guests and presenters in previous years included Tichina Arnold, Tank, Musiq, and Mo’Nique. Hosted by Steve Harvey.

When I tell you the hype is for nothing, I mean it! ATL classic weekend and the hype behind it is full of what we are full of: ****!
The clubs were not thick...Mozley Park was not hitting on nothing. The traffic was not the worst thing but it was definitely boring. Sittng in Traffic on South Beach for Memorial Day Weekend is rather fun when compared to sitting in ATL traffic. Buckhead was ****ty - thick on Saturday night but it was boring and the crowd was the worst. Underground Mall and Lennox Mall did not get thick how everyone proclaimed it would be. The game may have been thick but outside the stadium, BORING! The parade even sucked. Everywhere we went, it was as if that place was hit with a boring stick.
I wasted time, money, and much more money. The shopping aspect that every chick raves about: same **** you find in Miami! I'd rather wait to shop in Miami on Source Awards Weekend. The niigas was tired...the chicks were tired...FAMU band sucked major cock.
Yall cant begin to understand how I will forever regret the decision of going to ATL Classic - my first and last time !
For those of you who went, what did yall think? Where did yall go? Let us know your thoughts!

Excuse me CHILD - like I said, I went to Mozley Park (if you knew about ATL, you'd know how to spell the name of the park) and it was nothing there so I left. And I could care less about what time this board said I posted, I know what time I posted. If there is nothing going on by the time I get there then I'm out.
Won't yall atliens stop hyping ATL up to be something its not. Yall ghetto = Miami's suburbs! Yall clubs are whack - Buckhead, which is supposed to be "off the chain" was whack! Everything about this weekend from the malls to the game and back was whack! Get used to it!
ATL is only good for getting your career started and making a real come up - not that so called party scene that it is made to be. The party scene is the worst so from now on, ATL Classic weekend needs to be on day at one time: The game only!

Re: ATL CLASSIC weekend was the most boring thing....
by KJ (no login)
I stay in ATL, but am not from here so Im not biased at all (SC, Philly all day). We didnt go IN the game, usually dont anymore because the crowd around the Dome is soo thick u can hardly get at chics until after anyway, but come around the 4th qtr n afterwards. Didnt make it this yr or to Lennox Sat, but afterwards outside the Dome & in the AUC is usually packed & not at all boring w/ plenty of bad chics around. Lennox is usually PACKED on Sat after the game, and it's always thick on weekend evenings so Friday shouldve been pretty thick too... when'd u go?? Ladies, Lennox is not even close to the only big mall when chics/people talk about ATL's shopping (n the Underground def isnt one of em [anymore]), there's other malls about the size of Lennox. I did here it was 68,000 in the Dome instead of the usual 71,000+ sellout, Im thinkin knowing dat Tropical Storm was comin through the FL Panhandle towards ATL on Sunday prolly affected some of the FL/south GA crowd.
Buckhead is thick on a Fri, Sat night regardless if there's a big event, this past Sat it was thick regularly but not as thick as it shouldve been for Classic Weekend (outside of so much traffic to Buckhead on streets other than Peachtree). ATL cops really went overboard w/ blockin off all the routes/entrances to Buckhead soo early (Peachtree from da north, n south Im guessin, backside entrances from Piedmont, etc) by like 1:00, and the peak crowd doesnt usually hit Buckhead til around 12:30, 1am or lata so Im guessin that held Buckhead dwn. "The clubs were not thick"... yeah uhh, maybe u got hyped up on & went to the wrong clubs I dont know. I know from 1st & 2nd-hand info dat clubs were thick n poppin, even smalltime ones in Buckhead we dont usually pay (least more than $5) for in ATL were charging $10 and were thick... because a lot of out-of-towners seem to only know Peachtree and Buckhead. Even though Buckhead has the most clubs, it doesnt have the biggest/best outside of maybe Shadows. ATL's club scene is still more poppin every day/week with some big clubs remodeling, changing management, moving or closing (Velvet Room, Esso/Eclipse, Level 3, NV, the Bounce, etc) than almost any other city Ive been to (not jst on big event weekends)... including Miami. We werent even sweatin Mozley Park, but IF u did go bfore it was supposed to start.. what da...?!?
So maybe u went to the wrong club(s), spots at the wrong time, didnt have a Buckhead backup, exaggerating.. I dont know, but if ur comparing it to MDW Miami then maybe somebody gased ur head up a liittle much anyway. Truth is, ATLiens havent hyped ATL up... out-of-towners have, ATLiens have jst been reppin it hard. Ex: Still nothin's touched Freaknik, except old Bike Week, and more people came here than LA for All-Star Weekend.. 3x as many as DC n Philly and str8 phucked up traffic.

She did not go and here are a list of reasons MS CHYNA did not go
1. She said the clubs were not thick? What the hell, the clubs be thick on a weekend when there isnt a big event going on, plus you add the people that came here for the Classic and the falcons game on sunday....
2. she said earlier that she left atlanta at 2:45, why would u leave atlanta at 2:45 when the cookout didnt start until 4:00pm and the time of the cookout was listed way in advance so there is no reason for her to say it wasnt thick when she knew it started at 4 because she even asked 4 directions to the event
3. she started this thread at 5:45 pm, if you leave atlanta going to florida, thats is at least a 5 hour drive meaning that the earliest that she could have replied to this message would be around 7:45pm if she left like she said at 2:45...if you left atlanta at 2:45, that means that you would have stopped on your way back to florida to post this message, that doesn't make any sense 2 me
4. Lennox square not being thick on saturday, are u crazy...u lost your credibility on that one
5. she said outside that stadium was boring, maybe outside a braves game...but boring outside the classic game...if you have 68,000 black people leaving a dome at the same time how can that be boring...even if the game was in north dakota, 68,000 black people leaving an event at the same time is no way in hell boring
6. clubs being wack...lets think about this one
Visions Nightclub-no way in hell that wasnt packed on thurday or friday
Level 3, i know for a fack that was packed as hell
I know Vegas nights was crunk, cause i went to it
Club Chocolate was crunk
Primetime was crunk
Insomnia was damn crunk
Dyme nightclub was crunk
shadowns was crunk
the new club nv was crunk
the bounce was crunk, i aint gonna even list anymore
7. Buckhead boring on a saturday, NEGRO PLEASE...even the lamest nigga knows that buckhead is crunk on saturdays
8. she said the niggas was tired...atlanta is home of the ballers...everywhere u go u see tight ass cars and ballers...u said the females was lame, what! all these fine ass females in atlanta, plus 68,000 more people...are u crazy!!!u really lost your credibility on that one

For you new comers to the board, WE all know the time zone on this board is based out of the west coast. Ms. Chyna could have posted her message 8pm eastern time and the board time would be 5pm. That solved that.....the classics are getting tired and old. If you are in the age range of 25-30 you really do not want to party with teenagers just getting out of highschool. Lesson to learn: on any trip you must make it what it is. When I travel I definitely do not have an agenda and just go with the flow. Stop all of that back and forth bs, it wastes your time and space on the board.

Glad you pointed that time zone difference out. I was about to say that it is conceivable for Chyna to have left ATL at 3 and gotten to Tallahassee by 8. She probably logged onto BBW as soon as she got home and posted those comments.
As for the classics being tired . . not hardly. The classics, especially the major ones, are geared not for the current students, but for the alumni of those schools and the prospective city that its in. If a person isn't somewhat of a football fan, they shouldn't be going to any of these classics anyway ( at least for the game ). But the party scene in all of the cities where classics are held, is on point. You just have to know where to go and know what type of crowd you want to hang out with.
New Orleans, Memphis, Orlando, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, and Birmingham feen for these games. And the people in these cities love them.
Circle City Classic in Indianapolis is up next ( Tennessee St vs South Carolina State ). Indy always puts on a good show not only at the game, but in the city all week. Clubs, the convention center, and the concerts that Indy put on each year are always off the chain.

Like I said, it was boring. U cant knock how I have felt - I had more fun at boring ass BCR 2003 than in did in Atlanta Classic 2004. The scene was wack - point blank!
And as for the picnic/party or whatever, there was no one there when I went so I left. Why am I wasting time waiting on a picnic to start in ATL? Please! I'd rather be on the road in Hurricane Jeane.
Time is money and I definitely wasted time and money in ATL - only good for making money and starting your career!
Oh and the young lady was right when she said ATL classics are tired and getting old. Too bad I decided to go on the wrong year.

Why are you worried about what Ms. Chyna did, what time she did it and where....????
Is your life so boring that you need to make lists on
"WHY MS. CHYNA DID NOT GO". Come on man, who cares, she didn't like it. Don't take it personal. That is some real High School **** right there, you may not have gone to any of the clubs that were "THICK" cuz you forgot to bring you fake ID.
Silly... just silly.

LOL @ Chyna . . . you dropped the ball BIG TIME baby. The ATL Classic was ON POINT as usual. I hope you're not the same MzChyna that has those Miami rules posted, because if you are, you broke your OWN RULE: #4 . . Have an Itenary of where you want to go / do.
Next time you go to the "a" . . ask some people where to go. Going to Buckhead in ATL is just like going to South Beach in MIami, or the French Quarter in New Orleans, or Beale Street in Memphis . . . you may find a lot of clubs there, but the hottest places to be aren't necessarily in those areas.
How do you make a trip to the ATL and NOT have a good time? From Level 3 downtown, to Shadows, to Vegas NIghts in Marietta, to Insomnia about 5 miles north of Buckhead, ATL has just about every type of club you want. From upscale to straight ghetto. And if all else fails, go wherever the radio stations are broadcasting live at.
As for me, I straight kicked it in ATL for about 40 hours straight. LOL . . got about 4 hours sleep Sunday morning.
Went to the game on Saturday after attending the tailgate parties in and around the stadium ( don't know where you were before the game ). Both bands we're off their best if you ask me. FAMU's band was weak. That shocked me. The game was tight, even though TSU ended up losing by 1.
The Atrium on Saturday, once they stopped the BS with letting people in, was on point from about midnight to 2:30 am. Younger crowd, but the women knew how to party in there. They weren't waiting for everyone else to party. Then once the after hours joint opened up ( where the swimming pool and the hot tubs are ), they even had a few rap performances. LOL @ Khia. She was uglier in person, than she is on TV.
Sunday . . I went to the Falcons game. Boring azz game, with Vick playing horribly most of the game. The Cardinals are sorry, fumbling 3 times inside of Falcons territory. Vick finally put the game on ice with his 58 yard run. Then a brotha went to the ESPN Zone in Buckhead and had dinner, and watched the remaining games.
Then I went to Insomnia on Sunday night . . . woooooo.
I tell you what. Insomnia was off the damn meter. Fine women everywhere. And for you ladies, even Michael Vick and Tyson Beckford showed up. I would've stayed at that spot till 4 am, if I didn't have to drive back to Tennessee and take care of some business later in the day. Got home at 7 am . . woke up at 11 am . . saw a few clients . . and took my azz back to sleep around 6 and slept all night.

well i did have an itinerary...i just left it on the ironing board on the way out rushing to get on 319 N.
I heard the radio advertisements and all the BS - nothing!
Sorry folks, I am tired of going back and forth with some anonymous **** and the rest of yall. Point blank - in my opinion, ATL aint got **** up on Miami party scene. It was never all about South Beach in the M.I but I go to Miami all the time without knowing whats going on. Being able to go into some real ghettos and find out what the haps is for the night is what keeps me informed (and that's my hometown!). All weekend in the ATL, people talking bout go to Buckhead, its gone be off glass; goto Level 3, its gone be swole. The Moon in Tallahassee on a regular no event Wednesday night gets thicker than those clubs in the "A". Sorry, that city's party scene is nothing. Even a cat from Cali came with high expectations and had the same thing to say that I did: too much hype for nothing. My boyfriend and his friends thought the same thing (yall might have saw him riding in the Jolly rancher green donk on 26 inch rims with a orange bubble chevy on 26 inch rims and a blue box chevy on 26 inch rims). My homegirl boyfriend said the same thing. This event was hyped up too much in Tallahassee for it to turn out the way it was. And even if i would have saw Tyson and Mike Vick - NOTHING. They are some ugly dudes, sorry!
But thanks to everyone who commented on the subject. Please lay round for the next debate after the Source Awards weekend.
Subject officially CLOSED!

You appear to be more ghetto than anything else. Trust me if I would have seen your boyfriend riding in a donk, I would have quickly turned my head sweety....You did not have a good time so be it. Who cares? I travel frequently and do not have fun on every trip, but I don't go around saying the scene was wack. Get out a little more and learn how to have fun boo-boo!!!!!!
Posted on Sep 29, 2004, 12:58 PM from IP address 160.131.43.77
LOL @ Chyna. Did you even go in any of these spots in Buckhead that you say that wasn't packed? I mean, you basically had somewhat of a plan before you went to ATL. You had SOME IDEA of where to go. So what happened? Did you leave your hotel at 11 pm, thinking that you could get to a spot, even though there were about 40,000 out of town folks in the city? We're you planning on not going to a spot and just hang outside, thinking it would be like Miami on Memorial Day?
For the record, you can't compare ANY Black Football Classic to Miami on Memorial Day weekend. They're two totally different events. Freaknik was the event to compare to Memorial Day weekend, not the ATL Classic.
And of course you'll hype Miami, that's your hometown. But you obviously dropped the ball last weekend because of your poor planning. Even at the game, I picked up about 4 or 5 flyers promoting parties in and around the city. 3 of those flyers were for clubs outside of Buckhead ( Atrium, The Garden, and Insomnia ).
And you're still young too? ( I saw that you're only 23 ). It's no excuse for you to have not kicked it at a spot in the ATL. Most of the clubs are geared toward women 21 - 28, with all of the freebies that they give out.
I'll tell you this right off the bat. If you were disappointed with ATL, you'll be HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED with the Magic City Classic in B-Ham. But that's only if you don't find out some info about the Magic City Classic and what spots to go to in B-Ham first. In a lot of ways, that event is even better than the ATL event. I'll be down there too. And I know where to go. And I ain't afraid to let loose and party, regardless of the size of crowd.
That's what will determine if you have a good time or not.

Hello board, I am writing only after I got over a major major major major good time in LA for the awards show. Now I have not seen it on TV yet so I don't know if it reps the good time everyone had at the event.
BUT it was the after party that was over the top!
There were at least 100 different celebs in the building just hanging out, and they were not on some ole extra ..ish!
I went to the buffet line, and was in between the hell date staff and the cast of the wire.
I stood that the table and ate, literally right next to TONI CHILDS of the girlfriend series and not to mention all but Ms. Ross were also there.
I mean really I can not even put into words how much fun that was.
I can put it this way.
I had so much fun I never pulled out a business card, ok maybe once!
but for the whole night, to just to hang out in a party where money was not what got you in was AWESOME!
BET AWARDS 2009 PLAN TO BE THERE, IF NOT THE SHOW, THEN FOR THE PARTY,ITS WORTH A TRIP FOR JUST THAT ONE EVENT!
..of course if your looking for tickets the public wont have access, but ohhh
On a serious note...today is National HIV Testing Day
by Legz (no login)
NAACP & PARTNERS PARTICIPATE IN ‘TEST ONE MILLION’ EFFORT TO MARK NATIONAL HIV TESTING DAY
The NAACP is part of a broad coalition commemorating today [June 27] as National HIV Testing Day. To stress the issue’s importance, the NAACP, the Black AIDS Institute and others have partnered in the ‘Test One Million’ mobilization campaign, that aims to end the AIDS epidemic in black America by reducing HIV rates in the African American community by 50 percent in the next five years and dramatically increasing the number of black Americans who know their HIV status.
The NAACP continues to raise awareness about the HIV/AIDS epidemic due to the disease’s alarming disproportionate impact on the African American community. Of the estimated 1.2 million Americans living
with HIV/AIDS, nearly 50 percent of them are black. Black Americans represent more than 54 percent of
new HIV/AIDS cases in the United States. AIDS is the leading cause of death for African American women ages 24-34. Fifty percent of HIV positive black people in the U.S. do not know they are infected. Only an estimated 41 percent of African Americans have been tested for HIV in the last year.
“The NAACP advocates a multi-layered approach to eradicate this epidemic that is desolating the African-American community,” said NAACP National Board of Directors Chairman Julian Bond, who has publicly screened for HIV in an effort to raise awareness. “We remain committed to eliminating the disparities that exist in the contraction of HIV, access to treatment, and quality of care for racial and ethnic minorities.”
The ‘Test One Million’ campaign builds on the National Black AIDS Mobilization, a call to engage all of black America, from individuals to institutions, in a community wide effort to end the AIDS epidemic. The National Black AIDS Mobilization goals also include increasing the number of Black America in appropriate early care/treatment by 50 percent; and reducing HIV/AIDS stigma in Black America by 50 percent.
“We are calling on one million African Americans to step up and sign-on to the campaign to become testing advocates,” said Willis Edwards, NAACP National Board of Directors member and vice chair of the HIV/AIDS subcommittee of the NAACP Health Committee. “Everyone in the African American community must be educated and get tested, no matter who they are or what they think. We must come together to stand against this virus that is killing us in our silence and complacency.”
Campaign participants commit to doing one or more of the following:
Getting tested for HIV/AIDS (and subsequently encouraging others to do the same) in the next 18 months;
Supporting the mobilization effort with a $1 per month pledge;
Hosting educational events in their community;
Linking to existing HIV/AIDS service/educational efforts as a volunteer; and/or disseminating HIV/AIDS information in their community.

The Hoodie Awards is all about the people in your neighborhood. Who has the “Best Barbor Shop” or “Best Fried Chicken Spot”? Nominated by everyday folks, the winners are celebrated in Vegas each year. And you already know if it’s Vegas, it’s a non-stop party! Hoodie guests and presenters in previous years included Tichina Arnold, Tank, Musiq, and Mo’Nique. Hosted by Steve Harvey.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama has won over more than half of Hillary Rodham Clinton's former supporters, according to an Associated Press-Yahoo! News poll that finds party loyalty trumping hard feelings less than three weeks after their bruising Democratic presidential contest ended.
The poll suggests time is beginning to heal some rifts from the primary campaign and that the New York senator's endorsement of Obama carried weight. The poll was taken in the days after Clinton suspended her campaign and said she was supporting her rival.
Obama's progress with Clinton supporters is marked, yet far from complete. More than one in five who had backed the New York senator now plan to support Republican John McCain in the fall, a boost for McCain if those opinions hold.
"We still have work to do," Obama campaign manager David Plouffe told reporters in a strategy briefing. "Democrats are consolidating behind the nominee as the choice in the election is more clear and as the contest fades. Time is our friend here."
Obama gaining Clinton supporters
Obama's outreach to Clinton supporters picks up this week. Clinton planned to introduce Obama to her financial backers Thursday night in Washington, and the two will campaign together for the first time Friday in New Hampshire.
"I want her campaigning as much as she can," Obama told reporters Wednesday. "She was a terrific campaigner. She, I think, inspired millions of people, and so she can be an extraordinarily effective surrogate for me and the values and ideals we share as Democrats."
The Obama campaign also has encouraged supporters to host "United for Change" house meetings with supporters of Clinton and other candidates on Saturday. The campaign says over 3,000 are being planned across all 50 states.
The AP-Yahoo! News poll, conducted by Knowledge Networks, is part of an ongoing study that tracks the attitudes and opinions of a scientifically selected group of more than 2,000 Americans to see how their political views evolve over the course of the campaign.
The poll found 53 percent of the Democrats who favored Clinton for the nomination two months ago now back Obama for president. That's an improvement from April, when only 40 percent of Clinton supporters said they would back Obama over McCain.
"It wasn't a difficult decision I was a lifelong Democrat," said 55-year-old Susan Gates of Massachusetts, a former Clinton backer now firmly in Obama's camp.
Gregory Scheetz, 56, of Barstow, Calif., said he wanted Clinton to win because of her experience, her intelligence and because it's time to have a woman in the White House. But he said he moved to Obama after Clinton endorsed him on June 7, even though he's a registered Republican.
"I feel that he can bring change," he said. "There's people in our country that I see need help. They're slow about getting it, and it just seems that Republicans are taking a different direction."
Twenty-three percent of Clinton's backers picked Republican John McCain over Obama. Of the rest, 16 percent were undecided, 5 percent were for independent candidate Ralph Nader and 3 percent said someone else.
The poll suggests the Clinton supporters are wary that he has enough experience to be president. Just 25 percent describe him as experienced, and that drops to 5 percent among those former Clinton backers who are not supporting Obama.
The poll responses also show Obama has more work to do to quell fears among voters like Kirstie Hartle of Rome, N.Y., a registered Democrat who has never supported a Republican presidential candidate. With Clinton out of the race, Hartle said, "I'm Republican all the way now."
She said she doesn't like Obama's name and thinks he has a questionable background. She also said she thought Obama was deceitful when he broke from his church after it hurt his campaign, and she doesn't trust him to handle the Iraq war.
"It sounds to me like a Middle Eastern type of name and whether or not he's born here in the United States, he doesn't seem like, to me, somebody who is trustworthy," Hartle said in a telephone interview. "You can't trust anybody these days, so who's to say he's not a terrorist and we just don't realize it yet?"
When asked an open-ended question about the first words that come to mind about Obama, some former Clinton supporters used words like Muslim or terrorist. Those misconceptions have been fueled by Internet rumors that point out his name is Barack Hussein Obama but otherwise lie about his background.
"I refuse to vote for an Arab to be in my White House," said retired salesman Dean Johnson of Lanett, Ala. "That is the only factor. Otherwise, you couldn't break both my legs and make me vote for a Republican."
The Obama campaign has been addressing the rumors with fliers distributed at churches, a fact-checking Web site and a television ad about his American roots. Obama is a Christian who was born and raised in the United States. His father was from Kenya, but left when Obama was a toddler and he was brought up by his American mother and grandparents in Hawaii.
Sixty-year-old Ann Burkes of Broken Arrow, Okla., said she has a "gut feeling" that she doesn't trust Obama and is leaning toward McCain because he is more experienced. But she said all that would change if Obama picked Clinton as a running mate.
"If he chose her, I would be back in a heartbeat," Burkes said.
The poll found that choosing Clinton as No. 2 would appear to be a wash for Obama's candidacy. Overall, 28 percent said they would be more likely to vote for the Democratic ticket if Clinton were the nominee, 25 percent said they would be more likely to vote for the Republican ticket if Clinton were the nominee, and 47 percent said it wouldn't make much difference.
It would help more among former Clinton Democrats, with 68 percent saying they would be more likely to vote for the ticket if Clinton were on it.
Former Clinton supporter Jeannie Azzopardi of Ashland, Ore., said she would love for Obama to pick Clinton but she doesn't expect him to and will support him either way.
"I seriously doubt that everyone who supported Hillary Clinton would vote for McCain," she said. McCain is "in direct, direct opposition to everything she stands for."
An analysis of Clinton supporters who are backing McCain shows they are more liberal than the Arizona senator on the issues. The majority favor removing troops from Iraq as soon as possible, a single-payer health care system funded by taxpayers and repeal of Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy.
The AP-Yahoo! News survey of 1,759 adults had an overall margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2.3 percentage points. Included were interviews with 844 Democrats, for whom the margin of sampling error was plus or minus 3.4 points, and 637 Republicans, with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.9 points.
The poll was conducted over the Internet after pollsters initially contacted people using traditional telephone polling methods, following up with online interviews. People chosen for the study who had no Internet access were given it for free.
— Associated Press Director of Surveys Trevor Tompson and writers Christine Simmons and Ann Sanner contributed to this report.

I have a question about gettin g into the clubs during MDW, I will be 20 years old when i get down there.. will I have any Problems getting into any of the clubs?
Posted on Mar 30, 2007, 8:38 AM from IP address 129.174.184.3
You may have to slide the bouncer a few extra dollars just to get in period. These clubs would not risk losing their liquor license over a few dollars, especially not the big clubs. You might be able to find some smaller clubs 18 and over clubs on Washington, but these are wack compared to the other clubs. There have been some places that haven't checked my ID, but it all depends on how old you look.
Posted on Mar 30, 2007, 10:06 AM from IP address 204.194.77.3
It ain't a few dollars, it's more like hundreds. Last year I was talking to these two girls who were underage and they said they paid anywhere from $250-$450 to the bouncers, so they could get into the clubs. So unless your a baller, be prepared to hang out on the streets w/ a bunch of other people who don't feel like paying $50-$100 to get into the clubs.

I was old enough to get into clubs last year but my sister was only 20. We go offered on more than 1 occasion to be let in the clubs FREE but as soon as they saw her I.D. it was a no go. After having our friday night go like this we just quit trying due to the embarrassment (and long lines).
Posted on Mar 30, 2007, 10:32 AM from IP address 165.2.186.10
Sorry, buddy but ya gonna need ID. The last couple of times I went the clubs did a thorough check. They got drivers ID scanners and really scrutinize the id when you show them. After that they will give you a thorough pat down. And thats after the 1hr-2hr line wait. Yes, I'm dead serious its that long unless you go to the non popular clubs. So sorry to say ya might be out of luck. But no fret, there are plenty of females chillin outside of the club as they feel its too expensive and dont want to deal with rude guys.

1. There was no-one there. People tired of Miami. In a span of 4 to 5 months, there have been over 5 events in Miami: the Luke Spring Bling, Mardi Gras, BET Spring Bling, Springfest, Memorial day Weekend, Goombay, and Signature Series Weekend. People can't save money and spend it how they want to because everytime u turn around, there is something else going on in Miami.
2. The freaking RAIN! It rained all day Friday, well most of the day. That is the day when people usually get in Miami but to get there and battle rain? Boo!
3. Overpriced clubs with so-called guest appearances from rap stars and r&b heads. I aint finna pay the bull**** price of $50 reg admission, $100 V.I.P or whatever just because Rick Ross, Juelz Santana and Nelly was specially invited. Specially invited? In that case, all the patrons of that weekend were specially invited - if we come, we come. If we don't, oh well! Money wasted!
4. The cliche of South Beach....I hate that place. It's like a human zoo out there...animals loose on the strip constantly (animals meaning the hoes come out at night, mutt hoes and we all know that mutts let anybody phuck and the animalistic characteristics of the fellas, grabbing all over you, thumping you, wanna curse you out cause you don't want to holla, all type of ignorant ****). It wasn't just the Miami boys and females, them out of towners come down looking and acting a freaking hot mess as well.
5. Lastly, this event is played out. Miami needs to let go of MDW and focus on maybe one big event for the year. While this may be my hometown, I refuse to visit that deadly city more than twice a year. Events like Spring fest and BET Spring Bling need to relocate back to their original destinations QUICK. And when i say deadly, I mean it. Too many people lost their lives that weekend - it aint worth dying out feel me?
Posted on Jun 4, 2006, 3:28 PM from IP address 68.42.52.96
But FYI...the Signature Series Weekend has not happened yet and is not a weekend to "walk the strip" and all that lame shyt...it is for the folks who want to partake in Part II of where ever they went for Memorial Day or if they missed it all together.
I ain't trying to dick ride but I knew about that Machine Ghost events MONTHS AGO an d it ain't a "grown and sexy" event - IT IS UPSCALE!! No hanging on the strip half naked waiting for people to snap you with a camera phone - there will be enough events during the day and night to keep folks busy and entertained...
I hope you make it out Chyna!

I definitely feel u on a lot of that Chyna, even though I didn't make it back to MDW this year. 1&5. Even though a couple of those events are different, I think having SpringFest AND BET SpringBling seperately before MDW took it overboard. If BET/RadioOne/AGentertainment can't merge one big Spring event together, then BET needs to take SpringBling to MDW and make it Summer/May Fest or something. 2. Rain'll do it (spoil) everytime. 3. EXACTLY, and your prices were modest compared to the $75-80+ I've heard 4. Dayum, I hope the MDW quality dwn there hasn't fallen off like that... because it definitely isn't at (Black) Bike Week anymore, at least from a male perspective (female-wise), mostly due to MIA I'd thought.

Maybe we were in two different places because we all had a great time. The rain didnt seem to bother anyone but you because there were still alot of people out. IN THE RAIN!. I have pictures to prove it. As far as the animals were concerned. That was to be expected. You put chicks, and niggas on a beach and thats what is gonna happen. Many people went to Miami to let loose. If you didnt want to be approached then maybe you should have stayed in the car and looked out the window. As for the deaths, i didnt hear anything about anything like that. It may have been like that but i am not sure. I am not being nasty but i dont think that anyone likes there home town. I personally enjoyed Miami. Not just South Beach, i enjoyed the city of Miami also.

Ok so u had fun? Well, being a native of Miami and being apart of Miami MDW for several years, I would think your first yime going factor would play a role in the "fun" u claimed to have had. When I first went to Daytona, it was soooooooooooooooooo fun. The first year Miami MDW jumped off (2001), it was soooooooooooooooooo fun. My first year at FAMU homecoming and the Florida Classic was soooooooooooooooooooo fun. Then it gets dull. And the quality of events, men and women go down year after year because people get tired of the same ole bulljunk. So your first year fun has nothing on my 5th year chaos.
Posted on Jun 6, 2006, 1:49 PM from IP address 68.42.52.96
Well that is completely understandable but i think that everyone is entitled to there own opinion. If you were to come to NY youyr would say that it was fun and i would say that it is boring. Dont take offense to what i said. i personally enjoyed myself and being that it was the first year i can see what you mean.

Yo Terrance,
I attended MDW Miami also this year and I think Chyna hit the main points, so I'm looking for options for next year...what do you have to say about Cancun..the positives and the negatives? is it a good look????
ya boy in PHX..SACC

And while it was ghetto as hell and pretty much empty, I still had a good time..It was what you made of it. Ive been to Cancun and the scene is pretty much the same but people tend to feel they got soemthing done bc they used their passports..lol...but seriously, its the same look in cancun....tities, azz, chest naked men.....either place you go u have to be willing to have fun, meet people and really hang and have a good time....if youve been to any of these places every year for the last 5 years chances are u might be tired of doing the same damn thing.......Im curious to know what makes things fun for people.....In MIA there were people who complained about it not being good and their were people who made shyt happen....thats the difference....
Posted on Jun 6, 2006, 7:35 AM from IP address 216.57.46.182
I feel u on that. You seem like a person who'll give a real perspective. Was it really that slim this yr though?!? Has the quality (people, namely females) quality really fallen off like that?!? Has MIA MDW really fallen off that quick?!?
Terrance, what were the Miami #'s looking like, or have they come out yet??
Posted on Jun 6, 2006, 11:37 AM from IP address 67.191.205.199
Nah I dont think if fell off I think alot more people went to Cancun, Jamaica, Aruba, DR or what have you. I mean the woman are woman where ever you go...there were skanks, there were good girls dressed like skanks. There were dudes who thought they had bodies out there and didnt. I did hear alot of dudes say that the quality of woman had gone down, but at the same time some of them were a mess. I must say Im a woman who can appreciate when another chick got her shyt together and some woman looked really good and some just forgot their clothes..lol... So nah it didnt fall off its just not as popular, people got real jobs and are willing to pay more to vacation. The rain didnt help. There were stuck up people all over the place..cant get wet..I mean I can go on and on....you just have to be laid back and relax its MIA not a resort in Fiji. Like I said i want to know what peoples Idea of fun is....

Not quite sure of the numbers....as of yet ( doesnt seem like the numbers fell off) ..but goodness.....it got tons of publicity because of the arrest of the pro basketball players.
I feel you mia is what you make it. I went with a friend and ran into a few people from my hometown. I will say not everyone really enjoyed themselves but that was them. Anywhere you go thats HOT you can expect to see the same thing.I met a bunch of new people and had a ball. it is what it is, and anyone who complains-next year stay home
Posted on Jun 7, 2006, 6:17 PM from IP address 69.207.18.13
Its what you went there for...people went to get laid and some werent so lucky dont blame it on the people thats all on you...woman didnt want to be grabbed and pooked but were pissed when the men werent paying them any attention..I mean seriously people gone complain any damn way..if they had more money they could have gone to cancun or aruba..lol

Cancun was very nice. The numbers were not as large as last year. I think the hurricane made people go to other spots such as Miami. But I think next year's 5th anniverasary will be super huge.
I noticed that 90 percent of the people seem to come from NY. Last year it was more diverse with people from from all areas. I think that was also because last year had two different promotors. One being Omar ( O' International from New York/Cali area and the other guy repped Chi-town so they were huge last year.
I really liked the booze cruise much better this year then last. More lively ..and just alot more fun. I didnt like the talent show last year...so when they eliminated that and just made it a get ya freak on party...I think it made it 100% better
You got on the boat, partied and drank, went to the island, had a buffet, got on the mechanical bull, then hit the stage for the music/dance.....you got back on the boat drank some more and returned to the after party at a club which was nearly too crowded.....
But make no mistake....that WHITE PARTY was THE HYPEST white party I have ever been to.....and I go to ALOT of them.....It is the #1 party to hit.....
Imagine a few thousand people filled to the bleaches in all white from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM PACKED...drunk and wild as hell....
And then the daytime pool parties.....wait till I get these pics up
Greetings to all, I am a old head who as done the Cancun Memorial Day for on and off for the last 7 or 8 years now. It has been off the meter each time that I have attended. This year I elected to attend the Soul Beach Music Fest in Aruba. The promotors need to step up there game. However I truely enjoyed the island, the people, and my fine, mature, elegant, and still sexy sisters from all over. Next stop this year for me is the Essence Music Fest in Houston, then with 1stfridaysnj to Dominican Republic November 10-13. Does anyone know the line up and locations of the Essnce After Partys?

Miami was off the hook. There were so amny beautiful people there. I reall y had a great time. This was the foirst time thatI've been to Miami and i will definately be back. I had so much fun that I booked my hotel for next year the minute I got back to New York. One thing that i can say is that the police did there thing. Coming fron NY, it was nice to be able to enjoy the parties and everything else without the trouble for nuckleheads. i took over 700 pictures and ran out several hours of video. i got there on Thursday and stayed until Tuesday. The hotels were hot, the beach was hot and even the cops were hot. (some LOL). I am very grateful that i found out about this event. I can guarantee that next year NY will definately be there in full force. I have my whold click ready to head down. It was so ice that we have already reserved room and rentals to drive while we are there. Not like you need to drive anywhere. To anyone that reads this, if you havent been to Miami on Memorial Day, you are missing the time of your life. If you want to experience new things this is the place to do it. Miami will bring the freak out of anyone and believe me when i tell you, there is eye candy for both men and women. I recommend Miami to everyone. GO, you wont be disappointed. Save your chips now, because the ladies and fellas from all over the US are ballin out of control. Have your game tight becuase you will be embarrassed if you dont come correct!!!!

I agree....I guess NY girls arent as stuck up as they say...lol....I probably will try it again another time....I thought I was the only one that appreciated the mini swat team..and some of them were cute...lol

What up Terrence! I will be joining you veterans next year in Cancun.
This year's was by far the worst urban beach memorial day in miami. I have been going the past 4 years. It was not the rain that made it bad because it rains almost every year around that time.First of all, the vibe of the weekend was not the same. The crowd was not excited to be out there. The crowd was not at half of what it was last year until saturday night. This was the first year that I bumped into the same faces the whole weekend.Attendance was down this year.Secondly, the police started acting like BCR and Myrtle Beach by clearing the sidewalks where people were standing at night. That was half of the why the arrest were up this year. The quality of the females dropped off also.I think part of the reason is too many trips are planned for miami during the year. I made the comment a long time ago about springfest gives people more options on memorial day to go other places.Miami has an event almost every month.I think all weekends like this have a rise, peak, and decline year. For miami it is 2001,2005,2006. The best year was 2001. The most packed year was 2005.The worst year is 2006. I dont think this weekend will ever go away but it will be like more of a regional event like the other black beach trips that have been around forever.
Posted on Jun 8, 2006, 7:53 AM from IP address 24.185.108.252
Yeah...interesting comment..I went to Miami Springfest which was larger than last year.( could not make memorial day miami)
.and I knew it might take away from of the people who would normally go during MDW...and also with BET moving their event it was bound to lower the numbers.
I dont think Springfest is going anywhere because its a successful money maker for the promotors and Radio One....
BET ...I have no idea what they are going to do. I didnt like it in Miami ...and hope they move back to Daytona.
You dont think the rain had something to do with the lack of energy?
I know cancun had a downpour thursday...and a little friday...but sat and sunday was really nice.
Posted on Jun 8, 2006, 8:41 AM from IP address 71.8.208.166
Maybe a little on thurs and fri but trust me the crowd was nothing compared to previous years. The hotels in south beach were not sold out.Trust me you made the right choice about hanging in cancun. My crew and I will be in cancun 2007 at the Riu or Fiesta Hotel.Dont get me wrong I had fun but it was not worth the money invested on traveling on a holiday weekend to miami.I always wanted to change up but miami was hitting so hard that weekend I could not convince my crew about missing it. I think it's hard to keep the hype about a trip year after year.I still think this year was better than black bike weekend. The cops were more forceful at night but nothing like in myrtle beach.

PUYALLUP, Wash. -- A woman who police said assaulted a sex offender with a baseball bat said," I'd do it again if I had to," reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.
After learning that her Puyallup neighbor, 24-year-old William Baldwin, was a convicted level 3 sex offender from a flyer she received from the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, Tammy Gibson said, "I lost my mind."
KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Kevin McCarty interviewed both Gibson and Baldwin.
"She grabbed a bat, picked it up and started beating the crap out of me. She started beating me the way a man would with a bat", said Baldwin of the incident. "I've never even seen her before and she just comes over and accuses me of molesting her children and attacks me with a bat."
Gibson said she had seen Baldwin around the River Road Trailer Park and adjacent Cottonwood Mobile Home Park several times over the last year.
"I can't believe that he was allowed in our neighborhood", said Gibson.
Gibson said she often saw the 7 feet 3 inches tall Baldwin talking with her 10-year-old daughter.
"Last year, on the Fourth of July, he was talking to my daughter. I got the flyer in the mail and I snapped. I went nuts," Gibson told McCarty.
Gibson said she once told her live-in boyfriend she thought Baldwin was harmless, but said all that changed when she got the flyer that listed Baldwin's conviction on two counts of first-degree child molestation in 1999 as well as other offenses.
The flyer states that Baldwin lured a 5-year-old girl into a doghouse in his backyard and sexually assaulted her. That crime was committed while he was on parole for another sexual assault in which he forced a different 5- year-old girl into a sex act with him.
Gibson, who one neighbor referred to as "angry Tammy," at first told investigators she believed Baldwin had molested her daughter, then later admitted she knew he had not, but was afraid he would re-offend, court documents said.
Baldwin told McCarty he understands why people need to be informed that he is living in their neighborhood and claimed he has been assaulted in the past when people residing near him learned about his criminal past.
Baldwin said he has not re-offended since his release from prison in 2002 and said he has gone through counseling while jailed and now wants to put his past behind him.
"I did wrong to kids and people. I'm not like that anymore," said Baldwin.
Baldwin said that on the day of the assault, he had just completed a job interview and was looking forward to getting to work with a new company.
He also said he approves of the sex offender notification law.
"I think people should be told. If I wasn't a sex offender and I had a sex offender or a rapist living near me, I'd be mad too. I understand why she did what she did, but I didn't touch her kids," Baldwin said of Gibson.
Because he lived in the trailer park near River Road for several months before changing his registered address as required by law, Baldwin could be charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
Baldwin, who is currently in the Pierce County Jail, said he had to be escorted by Pierce County Corrections Officers for protection once the news of his alleged assault and sex offender status was broadcast by KIRO 7.
Gibson was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and felony harassment. She was arraigned Wednesday and pleaded not guilty.
Gibson said her biggest concern now that she is in jail and could go to prison is her daughter.
"I'm in big trouble for this and I'm wondering who is taking care of my daughter right now. I want to be with my kids, but I guess I just sit and wait," Gibson said tearfully.

What would you do?
Posted on Jun 20, 2008, 7:08 AM from IP address 151.196.108.99
I would not have went and beat the man with a bat. Either I would have moved or kept my children away from him, I understand her being mad, but I wouldnt allow my daughter to be talking to a stranger any way, so that was on her.
Posted on Jun 20, 2008, 9:04 AM from IP address 70.167.45.210
Yeah, upon thinking about this, and discussing on another board, Tammy was in the wrong. Sometimes we can't let our emotions get teh best of us. Now she's headed to jail, while the guy (who in all fairness is trying to turn his life around) will at the most get a slap on the wrist for not reporting his new address in a timely manner.
No mention of a father in the story, so if Tammy goes to jail, what's gonna happen to the little girl?
Posted on Jun 20, 2008, 9:16 AM from IP address 151.196.108.99
There is just a live in Boyfriend, sometimes we dont think before we act. I get real angry at times but I sit there and think now. I didnt use to be that way.

I wouldn't let my daughter stay with the BF...whether or not he's a good guy...that's just me.
Some one I know has taught me to think before acting...he is serving time for murder after killing someone in a road rage incident...we have to check those emotions sometimes. And look at the bigger picture...like jail!

Man are yall serious? Ya'll speaking as if you wouldnt do anything.
The fact that she got a flyer from the police and noticed the sex offender..ehh hmm 2x Sex Offender was a person she knew...The fact that she remembered that at one time this freak was up close speaking with her kid...Man i too would have snapped!
I would have run up on that muthaf*cka and pierce my pistol into his gut & gave him the threat of life! And i would have snapped that trigger one time without anything in the clip just to really scare that fruit loop! That bastard would have been crying like young buck after i was threw! Muthaf*cka!
Im beyond nuts when it comes to protecting my kid.I'll rip the skin off a muthaf*ckaz face if he or she poses a threat to my daughter for real!

I had to think about this one...
But why allow a 7'3 mofo talk to befriend your 10-yr old???
I wouldn't just sit there like "oh, the neighbor's a perv...ok." But sometimes you really have to pick your battles. (I wouldn't move away either...eff that that's MY house!) Honestly I am right back on the fence again with this one. lol

I am too, I mean what do u really do in this type of situation. My big thing is why is your 10yr old conversating with a grown a$$ man. I get heated when it comes to my son also, I cant really speak correctly on this subject because it has not happened to me. I could say one thing and if it happened do the total opposite.

Yeah I think that's true for anyone...we can all sit here on the 'puter and say what we would do or she should have done...but at the end of the day God only knows.
I know I get heated when I hear about RKelly getting over, or when I catch Dateline NBC, or America's Most Wanted, when there is a child molestation case airing.

DON'T WASTE YOUR ENERGY AND TIME AT CARIBANA.JUST BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE GO TO IT, IT DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT IT'S POPPIN. IF YOU ARE INTO CARNIVAL THEN MIAMI CARNIVAL IS BETTER. THE EVENTS AND THE VIBE IS BETTER IN SOUTH BEACH. THAT ONE IS IN 2ND WK IN OCTOBER. IT IS A VERY POSITIVE VIBE AND THE ATTITUDE IS GREAT. WITH CARIBANA IN TORONTO, THE ATTITUDE STINKS AND THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE ARE TOO SERIOUS. I HAVE BEEN TO THAT EVENT FOR 2 YRS IN A ROW AND THE VIBE WAS DEPRESSING. THE AFTERPARTIES WERE AVERAGE NOTHING MEMORABLE LIKE THE L'LL JOHN AFTER PARTY A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN HE CAME TO CARIBANA. HIS PARTY WAS AN ALL TIME CLASSIC AND NO PARTY AFTER THAT YEAR HAS COME CLOSE TO IT.
MIAMI CARNIVAL AFTERPARTIES ARE UNBELIEVABLE AND THE ENERGY LEVEL IS TEN TIMES STRONGER THAT THE ONE IN TORONTO. NO ONE IS STANDING AROUND IN A CLUB WHEN THE MUSIC IS PLAYING, EVERYBODY IS DANCING AND HAVING A BLAST. PROMOTERS IN TORONTO JUST CARE ABOUT SUCKING YOUR MONEY AT THE EVENT AND NEXT THING YOU KNOW IS YOU NEVER REALLY GOT YOUR MONEY'S WORTH. MIAMI CARNIVAL AFTERPARTIES ARE ABOUT THE SAME PRICE OF ADMISSION TO GO TO A JAM AS IT IS IN TORONTO BUT IN MIAMI YOU GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH WITH A BETTER VIBE AND BETTER ENERGY LEVEL.
TRUST ME DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON CARIBANA NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY AND EXCHANGING YOUR MONEY INTO CANADIAN DOLLARS IS NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU A LOT IN RETURN. SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR MIAMI CARNIVAL FOR BETTER ACTION AND EXCITEMENT

Nothing out of the usual. Went to work, hit up the club scene on Fri, Sat, and Sun. But the rain out in full force on Sat and Sun. We needed it though. I need a rest tho before next weekend comes.

Sometimes you have to get the message across as best we can. Try this for those who can't understand the King James Version:
1. I'm God. Don 't play me.
(I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt not have any
other gods before me.)
2. Don 't be makin no hood ornaments and charms outta me, or like me.
( Thou shalt not! have any graven images)
3. Don 't be callin' my name before a cuss word or when
you stub your toe, or when you are angry at somebody
(Thou shalt not use the name of the Lord thy God in vain)
4.Y'all betta be in church on Sunday
(Remember to keep the Sabbath day holy)
5. Don 't dis or cuss out yo momma...and if you know who ya daddy is, don't dis him neither.
(Honor thy father and thy mother)
6. Don 't be goin' on no drive bys.
(Thou shalt not kill)
7. Stick to ya own Boo.
(Thou shalt not commit adultery)
8. Don 't be borrow'n stuff and don't give it back.
(Thou shalt not steal)
9. Don 't be snitchin' or lyin' on the otha' man to save your behind.
(Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy brother)
10. Don 't be eyein' (skeeming) yo homie's crib, ride, woman, or nuffin.
(Thou shalt not covet anything that belongs to thy brother).

Pierce did his thing this year. I can't hate on him ( other than for throwing up that Hoover Crip gang sign at my Hawks if Round 1 ) . . . . . . . . . . . Very seldom can a person "get to the point" in a couple of sentences, especially on a complex issue. So I'll try to overwhelm people with multiple facts and opinions, hence the long posts . . . . . . . . . . . And you got to give me credit, I was DEAD ON about watching out for Obama in '08.

It was a great night, I was not a Celtics fan HOWEVER to see some new blood win a ring was great. I have always like KG, and we will call POSEY the big surprise and the
7 -3pointer man, has been around a long long time himself...
I am glad for them!

Well I'm neither a Laker fan nor a Celtic fan. I'm a basketball fan. So naturally I wanted the series to go 7 games and it didnt do it. Its all good tho. The better team won last night. It was amazing and joyful to see KG get his first championship ring. After all those loosing seasons in Minnesota. It was good to see my man Ray Allen get a ring after getting defeated many times while being with Milwaukee. I mean what can you say, the dude tied I believe Jordan for most threes made in the Finals. Pierce after many losing season with the Celtics deserved his first ring. The Celtics overall were the better team.
As for the Lakers, the played like absolute crap the last three games. The last game showed their ugly colors. The game was absolutely horrible defensively as well as offensive. I have not seen a worse beat down like since Jordan's final game against the Utah Jazz.
So congrats to the Celtics and their fans. Next season is gonna be alot tougher for yall tho.

This Celtic parage is nothing nice and is a short rolling parade and no big rally at end.....Not like the Red Sox and Patriots....If Kobe is the best player in the world then what is Lebron James then chopped liver....
KG, RA, and the Truth Paul Pierce as well as House, Posey and the others...I say REPEAT !!!!
